Moosehead Special[edit]

The Moosehead Brewery Produced a product called Moosehead Special in the late 1970-80's. There is no mention of it on their page. I was trying to figure out the production dates. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 47.55.61.190 (talk) 01:03, 28 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, IP user. All information in a Wikipedia article should be cited to a reliable published source. If a particular piece of information is not there, ideally the article will point you to some sources where you can look for the extra information. I see that the article Moosehead Brewery has many citations, thought I have not looked to see if they might help (or what their quality is. I also notice that it has a box at the top saying that it needs additional citations: this note might be out of date or may still be appropriate). If you can't find an answer that way, then I suggest asking at the miscellaneous section of the Reference Desk: this page is for questions about editing Wikipedia. --ColinFine (talk) 15:16, 28 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Wondering about ban[edit]

I was looking at the banning policy, then I saw the interaction ban, which prevents someone talking to someone else. And then I wondered: is it legal within Wikipedia rules to use another account (sockpuppet) to talk to that person to which you're interaction banned? It doesn't show that on the section. I will thank whoever answers that to me. Trigonometria87 speak 01:39, 28 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No. Quoting from the polciy on sock puppetry, Policies apply per person, not per account. Pppery 01:41, 28 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

How to change default preview size of an image ?[edit]

The File:Linux kernel interfaces.svg currently has a preview of ~ pixels. It seems too high for certain screens and thus doesn't fit into the screen. Thus, it seems to require a reduction in the size of the preview. The corresponding image in commons (c:File:Linux kernel interfaces.svg) seems to have a preview of 800 × 600 pixels. It seems to be a better choice. How do I change the default preview size for an image ? - - Kaartic correct me, if i'm wrong 05:07, 28 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Kaartic: I don't think this can be done for a single image. The default preview size comes from your preferences, at Preferences → Appearance → Files. The default there is set by each project - I don't know exactly how - and Wikimedia Commons and the English-language Wikipedia have different defaults. -- John of Reading (talk) 05:50, 28 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@John of Reading: Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't expect the preview size of an image to be dominated by user preferences. Thanks! - - Kaartic correct me, if i'm wrong 06:14, 28 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
All Wikimedia wikis have the same 800 × 600 default file page preview in mw:Manual:$wgImageLimits. It could be changed in InitialiseSettings.php or CommonSettings.php but it hasn't been. Users can change it in their own account. The thumbsize default in mw:Manual:$wgThumbLimits varies between wikis but that only controls the size when an image is displayed on another page as a thumbnail with unspecified size. Minuteman article[edit]

I know the name of the article in the 1911 Encyclopedia Britanica. It is United States. But I don't how to show it in the Minuteman article. Vejlefjord (talk) 13:55, 28 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You can use Template:Cite_encyclopedia template. Ruslik_Zero 14:18, 28 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

List of subcategories?[edit]

I'm looking for a tool that generates a simple list of *all* subcategories of any category. Is there one? PetScan keeps freezing on me, if I search for, e.g. subcats of Category:Women. I guess Special:CategoryTree kinda does the job, but I'm not really looking forward to expanding the subcats one by one. 88.113.104.224 (talk) 21:40, 28 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please fix up ref number 7 - I did not put in the name of the actual publication. It is all wrong. Sorry — Preceding unsigned comment added by Srbernadette (talkcontribs) 23:05, 28 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

HOW TO AVOID ARTICLE DELETION OF YOUNG STUNNA (MUSICIAN)[edit]

I'm trying to contest against deletion of the article, items are not poorly sourced, references are available, is there any way possible I can re-edit the article to avoid getting deleted? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rexchuqs (talkcontribs) 11:46, 28 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
