How to locate the record of question?[edit]

Hello, I want to know if it's possible to find the record of question has been asked by me?

Thanks!--Belle Tong (talk) 00:57, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You might try searching the archives; the link is at the top of the page. Catrìona (talk) 01:10, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, Belle Tong. You can look at all your contributions to Wikipedia by picking "Contributions" at the top of the page. However, on this page, old discussions are archived, so for posts you made here more than a few days ago, you'll need to search the archives, as Catriona said. --ColinFine (talk) 11:45, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The quantity limitation of question asked everday?[edit]

Hello, I want to know is there any quantity limitation of question asked everyday in here?

Thank you~--Belle Tong (talk) 01:02, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No, although people are more likely to answer if you ask fewer questions. TeraTIX 01:20, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The decades articles 2000s, 1990s and others[edit]

Hi Wikipedia was just wondering if you could tell me. I have been reading the articles on pop culture and it is found in the articles of the decades and I was just wondering in those articles do they include years from the decade that are in pop culture is everything from every year in music, movies etc apart of pop culture in those decades articles?— Preceding unsigned comment added by ‎ 103.24.208.254 (talkcontribs) 2018-08-10T05:09:35 (UTC)

Hello, IP user. I am not very clear what you are asking. If you are asking whether some articles contain everything they might, the answer is probably no: Wikipedia articles are written by many editors like you and me, and may or may not be complete. If you are asking something more specific about the content of the articles, the talk page associated with each article may be a better place to ask. --ColinFine (talk) 14:34, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Iván Duque Marquez[edit]

Iván Duque Marquez is the new president of Colombia when one does a search for him Wikipedia page does not list his name it list him as Peppo Pig . While I don't like th eguy he was elected by the people of Colombia and deserves to have his office Wikipedia page to reflect his real name not what someone thinks is a joke

The Wikipedia article does not list "Peppo Pig" anywhere, and there doesn't seem to be any vandalism in the recent page history either. Wikidata also does not list Peppo Pig anywhere. Strange where Google got it from, but we can't do anything about it here. I've reported it to Google. Thanks for bringing this up, though the best place next time would be through the "feedback" button on Google Knowledge Graph itself. Darylgolden(talk) Ping when replying 04:27, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
This was vandalism on Wikidata, which has since been corrected, but Google still has not fixed the issue. LittlePuppers (talk) 07:05, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting sources[edit]

Hello. I gather that Wikipedia has a process for requesting sources, such as academic articles, that can be used to improve articles. Can anyone direct me to the right place? FreeKnowledgeCreator (talk) 08:32, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

FreeKnowledgeCreator, try here Jimfbleak - talk to me? 09:20, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. FreeKnowledgeCreator (talk) 09:21, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
FreeKnowledgeCreator I suggest that you also explore the resources available via the "Request database access" link at The Wikipedia Library. A wide variety of resources such as academic journals, databases, books, and back issues of newspapers are available to Wikipedia editors who meet certain criteria. You might find something there that aligns with your research interests. Eddie Blick (talk) 23:55, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I have a very specific request for help that I have already made at Wikipedia:WikiProject Resource Exchange/Resource Request; I want to access the text of the book review mentioned here. I'm not sure how to ask the Wikipedia Library for help with this. FreeKnowledgeCreator (talk) 00:05, 11 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Why doesnt Wikipedia sue other companies that use similar content and software[edit]

Why wont wikipedia sue companies that use the Wiki name and use similar software and even in some cases the same content used on Wikipedia that allows people to edit articles when Wikipedia was the inventor Abote2 (talk) 12:20, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Such as? ~ Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 12:24, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Abote2: Wikipedia does not own the exclusive rights to Wiki software. Also, Wikipedia releases its content under the CC BY-SA 3.0 License and the GFDL. Ian.thomson (talk) 12:26, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Actually the content does not belong to Wikipedia (or the WMF to be legally correct). All content belongs to the individual contributors, every time we save an edit we license that contribution. Both the software and the content is given away free, there is no basis for sueing anyone. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 13:00, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
WP:OWN ~ Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 13:12, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
[That] page is about control over an article's text. For the ownership of copyright in an article, see Wikipedia:Copyrights: We own our edits, but not the articles. That page relates specifically to the latter. —SerialNumber54129 paranoia /cheap sh*t room 13:19, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • The above responses explain the mechanisms, but you may also be interested in the philosophy behind them. Basically, we (the Wikipedia community) want other people to be able to use the software and the article contents. For the software, see Open-source software movement. For Wikipedia content, see Wikipedia:Five pillars. -Arch dude (talk) 16:05, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • Actually Wikipedia is merely one of the thousands of users of the software, we have only an indirect "arms length" relationship with the creators of the software. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 20:30, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
      • MediaWiki is the software Wikipedia currently runs on and was written for and by us (currently Wikimedia). Wiki software in general is larger category of programs with WikiWikiWeb being the original. Wikipedia orignally ran on UseModWiki but it soon ProvedCumbersomeAndLimited. Talk page archive[edit]

Hi, the archiving on my talkpage stopped about a week ago, have tried to fix it to no avail, please advise Atlantic306 (talk) 16:39, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You changed |algo = old(7d) to |algo = old(30d). --David Biddulph (talk) 17:35, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
A few other things: you have changed the |counter= a couple of times as well, currently set to 39, change it to 13. Last bot visit in Special:Diff/852757166/852761564 archived to User talk:Atlantic306/Archive 16, move it to 13 without leaving a redirect. Lowercase sigmabot III looks for timestamps, which is why you have 12 old threads that never archive. Can be solved in several different ways. Sam Sailor 18:29, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thankyou both, it's working now I followed your instructions, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 12:03, 11 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Add image to default portal link icon[edit]

How do I add the image Wappen Pommern.svg to the portal link icon ({{portal|Pomerania}}) for Portal:Pomerania?--Neufund (talk) 16:57, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Neufund. Looks like you'll need to request it at Template talk:Portal, unless a template editor or sysop happens across this thread to can add it for you. GMGtalk 17:02, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I added a note there. Greetings--Neufund (talk) 17:05, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

firing for nothing at all[edit]

Is it alright for a company to fire an employee for having a customer to purchase murchandise for them on a sale day for them that gives them 50 percent off for all people? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.124.145.253 (talkcontribs)

This is Wikipedia, an encyclopedia. We don't give legal advice. Try contacting a lawyer. Joseph2302 (talk) 22:40, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That being said, it seems like unnecessary subterfuge when they could just have bought it him/her/themself. Employees are people too. Clarityfiend (talk) 23:02, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Can you put April 10 for the end of the regular season and April 13 For the start of the playoffs please. 68.103.78.155 (talk) 23:12, 10 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I Wikilinked your title so that others can quickly go to the correct article – it would be courteous of you to do this yourself in future.
April 10th is already given as the end of the regular season in the article, in three different places.
One of us volunteer editors might enter April 13th as the start of the playoffs, if you show us a Reliable Source that confirms this information. We can't add or change information in an article just because some anonymous person on the Internet tells us it's true because – and this may come as a shock, so brace yourself – people on the Internet sometimes lie (and sometimes make mistakes). {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 94.0.130.143 (talk) 19:19, 11 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
