April 17[edit]

In the 17th century section, could the portrait of Francis Lupton II be made slightly larger. I cannot do this and I have tried. Sorry. Please make it slightly larger. thanks 175.33.49.35 (talk) 00:05, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Done by changing "120px" to "150px" (px=pixels) - see Wikipedia:Extended image syntax for further information. When you want help with the Lupton family article, I suggest you first try posting on Talk:Lupton family per the message at the top of this page. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 00:22, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ref numbers 8 and 19 are "doubled up" in this article (the same, i.e. repeated). I have tried to do it the way I've seen in other articles, but cannot. Please do this if you can. Thanks again. 175.33.49.35 (talk) 00:56, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I've fixed it; you just have to add a name attribute to the opening ref tag, which will save you from repeating the entire reference in succeeding occasions. See Help:Footnotes and Help:Referencing for beginners for more advice. — RAVENPVFF · talk · 01:06, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
So what was written above at "Lupton family" has had no effect? -- Hoary (talk) 01:13, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I want to delete Blair Caldwell as a user of this pc as he dOES NOT use it[edit]

--142.68.49.251 (talk)Nancy CaLDWELL

If you mean somebody who is registered in the operating system or other software then you can ask how to remove them at Wikipedia:Reference desk/Computing. Mention the operating system or software, and say whether you are already registered as another user or you want to change a name to your own. PrimeHunter (talk) 12:22, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Organisation Structure[edit]

Hi, is there a template to show the management structure of an organisation? — Yours, Berrely • TalkContribs 12:38, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Berrely: Would Template:Tree chart meet your needs? GoingBatty (talk) 14:48, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
GoingBatty, it would! Thanks! — Yours, Berrely • TalkContribs 15:11, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

biography[edit]

How can I publish my biography in Wiki? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 154.152.20.141 (talkcontribs)

154.152.20.141, please see the following link for the answer to your question: Wikipedia:FAQ/Article_subjects#Can_I_start_an_article_about_myself_or_my_company?
Thanks, †dismas†|(talk) 16:12, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You may certainly publish on a Wiki, but not this Wiki unless you are notable by our standards. There are many alternative Wikis, for example Everybodywiki. Please see WP:OUT for others. -Arch dude (talk) 19:23, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I can't find "My Lists" in the Web version of Wikipedia[edit]

Hello there!

Where can I find my personal lists when I using the web version of Wikipedia versus a dedicated app?

When I'm using the Android app, it's easy to work with lists, download articles for offline reading, and so on. But how do I do this when I am for example using Firefox to access Wikipedia?

Many thanks in advance for your answer. And have a great day! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thripp (talkcontribs) 2020-04-17T18:34:01 (UTC)

Hello, Thripp. As far as I know, you can't: they're something in the App that has not been put into the website. --ColinFine (talk) 17:51, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You can't directly access them through the website, but there is a browser extension for the most-widely-used browsers that lets you access them (including Firefox). --47.146.63.87 (talk) 22:07, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

olympic national park , Washington[edit]

I would like to give you a point of information about the rain forest in the state of Washington. during the Vietnam War those army recruits who trained at Fort Lewis Washington were trained in jungle war fare in the rain forest because it so resembled the jungles of Vietnam. I was one of those recruits. thankyou. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.61.17.194 (talk) 20:09, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your observation. Because we are crowdsourced by anonymous editors, we cannot take anyone's word for something like this. If you can surf around on the net and find a report of this in a "reliable source" (see WP:RS), we can put it into the article. Just add your observation and a link to that source on the article's talk page (Talk:Olympic National Park). -Arch dude (talk) 20:41, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked IP doesn't stop blanking its talk page.[edit]

Yeah, see title. Is that allowed, to delete warnings/block messages from own talk pages, like here? TheImaCow (talk) 21:34, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

TheImaCow Generally speaking it's not considered productive to be edit warring with a blocked IP over them blanking their talkpage ...... I'm sure you can find one article out of 6 million to edit!. –Davey2010Talk 21:42, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@TheImaCow: Yes, it is ok to delete warnings, and that is taken to mean that they have read the warning. RudolfRed (talk) 21:46, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Status of New Page[edit]

How can I check the status of a new page I created called "WangShui". I created the draft a while ago and am wondering when or how it will be moved to the mainspace? Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fv3000 (talkcontribs) 17 April 2020 22:11 (UTC)

@Fv3000: If you comsider that the page is ready for mainspace you can submit it for review by adding {{subst:submit}} at the top of the source. This will place it in the list of articles awaiting review. However, I would suggest that you have alook at at WP:NARTIST before doing so... just to ensure that notability is achieved. Please prepare to be patient as there are several thousand pages awaiting review and it could take weeks if not months. I have CE'd the page a bit... mainly fixing hdgs etc. Please do not ask similar questions in multiple locations as this duplicates work for other volunteers and may lead to conflicting advice. (Please remember to sign your posts on talk pages by typing four keyboard tildes like this: ~~~~. Or, you can use the [ reply ] button, which automatically signs posts.) Thank you. @Fv3000: Another thing you can do on Draft:WangShui is add categories, and put them inside Template:Draft categories so they will appear when your draft is moved to articlespace. GoingBatty (talk) 01:08, 18 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

How to up load my photo on my homepage[edit]

I have tried uploading my photos but it says you could not determine whether this photo has a copyright. So how can I upload my own photo to Wikipedia homepage?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Zzjhaas (talkcontribs)

Zzjhaas, welcome to Wikipedia. You can upload your photos to Commons. Make sure that the photos are your own work or if they are not your work then that they are allowed for commercial use or they are in public domain.--SharʿabSalam▼ (talk) 23:04, 17 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
