Just wanted to make sure that wikipedia is 100% accurate and so yeah thats it hope you all are having a good day≈—≈ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stillth (talkcontribs) 02:38, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Stillth: It's not, but you might be interested in reading Reliability of Wikipedia. Your help to improve articles would be appreciated. GoingBatty (talk) 02:46, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
So far, Stillth, you have made one edit to an article: this. It's junk, as you well know. Either behave like an adult or go elsewhere to play. -- Hoary (talk) 03:14, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
please be polite hoary or whoever you are — Preceding unsigned comment added by Stillth (talkcontribs) 03:19, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

change or edit my website information[edit]

How can I control other editors to change or edit my website information? Added at 06:49, 27 June 2020 by 103.96.220.226

I don't know what you mean by changing or editing your website information. You cannot control other editors. Depending on what you have in mind, you might be able either to persuade them to do something or to dissuade them from doing it. -- Hoary (talk) 07:53, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. If you mean a website somewhere outside Wikipedia that you control, then we cannot give any help on it here. It is possible that the Computing section of the Reference Desk could. If you mean a Wikipedia article about you, then it is not yours, and you cannot control it. Please see WP:OWN. --ColinFine (talk) 08:00, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Having said that, if there are errors in a Wikipedia article about you, we want to know about it: please see WP:Autobiography#Problems in an article about you. --ColinFine (talk) 14:17, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Low and baggy pants.[edit]

Your info is completely wrong. Low, baggy pants are a prison thing. If you are willing to have sex, you wear your pants low. Sometimes showing your actual ass. Your rapper reference is after the fact. Please fix this. These young people have no idea what it really means. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sancheezia (talkcontribs) 07:57, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please put your suggestion on the talk page(s) of the relevant article(s). Be sure to supply reliable references, so that people will believe you. -- Hoary (talk) 08:12, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ashmore, Cole's county, Illinois[edit]

I've heard of a bridge with an unofficial name of Parcus Bridge. It's North out of Ashmore toward Oakland, but you have to turn right shortly after Ashmore. The previous, or current land owners in the area have a last name of Brashears. I cannot find it on any map. Locals have heard of it, but don't know the exact location either. Can you help?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Keky13 (talkcontribs) 27 June 2020 08:58 (UTC)

Please look at the large light blue box at the very top of this page, and perhaps click the link there to the "reference desk". -- Hoary (talk) 10:09, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

LintHint error in template[edit]

On this page...

Template:Blockquote paragraphs

...LintHint gives me this error...

 Missing end tag  blockquote
 Stripped tags    blockquote
 Missing end tag  blockquote
 Stripped tags    blockquote
 Missing end tag  blockquote
 Stripped tags    blockquote

...which is caused by this Wikimarkup...

Blockquote and templates that call it, and are indented with colon (:), bulleted with asterisk (*), or numbered with number (#), will generate errors and incorrectly display anything after a newline character.
<!--Please do not "fix" these deliberate errors. -->

{{markup</nowiki>
|<syntaxhighlight lang="html">
:<blockquote>Paragraph 1
Paragraph 2</blockquote>
</syntaxhighlight>
|
:<blockquote>Paragraph 1
Paragraph 2</blockquote>
}}

{{markup
|<syntaxhighlight lang="html">
*<blockquote>Paragraph 1
Paragraph 2</blockquote>
</syntaxhighlight>
|
*<blockquote>Paragraph 1
Paragraph 2</blockquote>
}}

{{markup
|<syntaxhighlight lang="html">
#<blockquote>Paragraph 1
Paragraph 2</blockquote>
</syntaxhighlight>
|
#<blockquote>Paragraph 1
Paragraph 2</blockquote>
}}

This LintHint error then shows up at Template:Quote.

Is there any way to keep the display of the deliberate error without it showing up in LintHint?

If I can't do that, is there a way to stop the error from showing up on other templates? I had to go through a long "Pages transcluded onto the current version of this page" list to find the actual error.

@Guy Macon: You might reach a better target audience at WP:VPT. —[AlanM1 (talk)]— 01:23, 28 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Thanks! --Guy Macon (talk) 01:35, 28 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sushant Singh Rajput: Question for administrator[edit]

<Your Question> I want to make an edit to the "Cause of Death" mentioned in article of Sushant Singh Rajput. The post mortem reports says suffocation due to hanging. The case is still under investigation of whether it is a suicide or murder hence wikipedia should not give a verdict like suicide yet. Can the cause of death be replaced with Suffocation due to hanging please. --Fixer1991 (talk) 15:33, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Fixer1991: do you have a source for that? Victor Schmidt (talk) 16:58, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
This would be better placed on the talk page for the article. Britmax (talk) 17:08, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Fixer1991: You do not need an administrator for this question. Glad you received the proper responses. GoingBatty (talk) 17:30, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Abhinaba Halder[edit]

I am not able to publish this article for review,— Preceding unsigned comment added by Agyaat.MAC (talkcontribs)

You havent created an article, you have crated a template. Howewer, Wikipedia doesnt want to be used for promoting or "spreading the words" or "generating awareness" about something. Victor Schmidt (talk) 17:01, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Your article Abhinaba Halder is liable to be deleted soon, as it has no references to published reliable sources to demonstrate the subject's notability. It also has numerous misplaced external links. You presumably didn't bother reading the numerous helpful links which were provided in the welcome message on your user talk page? --David Biddulph (talk) 17:27, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

How do I ask for help with an article[edit]

Hello, I created this draft Draft:Weather Reports (web-series), and it is hard foe me to write it by myself so I need help, but the subject is rather popular so someone might even decide to write it instead of me.--DonGuess (talk) 18:27, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@DonGuess: You could try posting on Talk:David Lynch and/or Wikipedia:Requested articles. GoingBatty (talk) 19:11, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, DonGuess. Your best bet is to find an appropriate WikiProject and ask there: I'm not sure which might be appropriate: perhaps WikiProject Theatre? But one suggestion: absolutely the first thing to do when writing any Wikipedia article, preferably before writing a word of the article, is to find suitable sources to establish that the subject is notable: if it is not, then any effort spent on it will be wasted. If you ask for assistance now, then anybody who might be interested will need to start by finding the sources that establish that the series is notable. But if you do that research, then either you can find that there aren't such sources, and give up; or you can make an appeal, saying "Would somebody like to help me write an article on Weather Reports? I think it is notable, because I've found the following indepedent reliably published sources which talk about it at some length". --ColinFine (talk) 19:19, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@ColinFine:, ok, thanks, i found two sources so far and left them on the talk page and if you found some good article please leave them there too, thank you! Regards DonGuess (talk) 19:27, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Nope, DonGuess. Even if those sources are reliable publications (which they may be, I don't know), those are not indepedent of Lynch, and so cannot contribute to the notability of the series. Wikipedia is basically not interested in anything said by the subject or somebody close to the subject, about the subject. It is only interested in what people completely unconnected with the subject have chosen to publish about it. --ColinFine (talk) 21:12, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Where can I find top 10 editors of each wikiproject?[edit]

Where can I find top 10 editors of each wikiproject? Man Floor (talk) 18:35, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Top 10? Most active, oldest, most venerable, most reliable? Fiddle Faddle 19:05, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe it would help if we knew why you want this information. RockMagnetist(talk) 19:40, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You could I suppose check the page statistics of the WikiProjects talk page. It's a little difficult to have an answer without a reason. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 20:04, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Uploading an image correctly[edit]

Hi everyone. A while ago, I asked for help in uploading an image; and was told that in the stage of a sandbox draft that it was not allowed. Now that the article is in the main space; I thought I'd try again. I am attempting to upload the image of Andrew Wyeth's Maidenhair: Farnsworth Arts Museum Maidenhair similar to other Wyeth works that have been uploaded to WP: Fields, Sale, Weed, Evening at Kuerners, Plain. They have been uploaded as Fair Use / WP:NFCC#4 under the category: "Fair use images of art". The Media data and non-free rationale is: "For visual identification of the object of the article. The article as a whole is dedicated specifically to a discussion of this work." (WP:NFCC#8) "Subject of whole article" (WP:NFCC#3). I've attempted in the past to upload certain images such as simple covers of sheet music from the 1930s which are all over Wikipedia, thinking I had followed all the same rules, regulations and guidelines; only to find that an editor had removed it via "speedy deletion" due to a technicality with my upload. I'm just not familiar with all the hoops that I'm supposed to jump through to upload an obviously copyrighted work such as this; but is fair use in other articles. Anyone willing to help an old dog learn a new trick? Thanks in advance. I appreciate any and all help. Maineartists (talk) 20:41, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Maineartists. I believe that editor Mianvar1 has experience in doing this. --ColinFine (talk) 21:20, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, ColinFine! Thanks so much! I really appreciate! Maineartists (talk) 01:27, 28 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
