My family and I are not rich; we are really poor so everything we get needs to be used for food and earnest necessities. A valuable way to contribute is by editing the encyclopaedia. If there are topics on which you have some knowledge, for example on things/places local to you or any hobbies, adding sourced content about those to articles is a fantastic way to contribute. Please do not contribute money unless you have enough, as we actually have as much as we need. Instead, contribute by learning to edit Wikipedia. You can start with simple stuff like spelling and grammar. This is extremely useful work and not enough of us want to do it. Eventually, you can begin checking references and updating articles. All this will be easier if you create an account: use a "handle" instead of your real name. Do NOT reveal your age or any other personal information: see WP:YOUNG. How to report conflict of interest content?[edit]

The article was, going by the initial editor's username, initially created by the subject in 2007, but has since been edited and expanded by dozens of different editors. At a quick read-through it is well referenced, strictly factual and does not use non-neutral language: all of this is in accordance with Wikipedia guidelines.

Although we are cautious about autobiographically initiated articles because non-neutral self writing is difficult, they are not forbidden, and a professional writer such as the subject is likely better capable than most of attaining neutrality.

It is a given that articles are often beneficial to their subjects as a by-product, but this article seems to me to fulfill the primary purposes of a Wikipedia article. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 90.195.175.140 (talk) 18:49, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Subject deleting info from their own BLP page[edit]

The purpose of the help desk is to help users understand basic concepts of how to edit Wikipedia. More involved matters of interpreting policy are a bit beyond that. You could always bring it up on the talk page of the article, and if that doesn't go anywhere possibly mention it at WP:COIN. Or just respect the person's wishes and move on. The policy at WP:BLPKIND suggests that subjects of articles should be shown some leniency, depending on individual circumstances. For example, they can certainly remove defamatory unsourced statements and vandalism without making edit requests. I have not investigated the specific case you brought up, IP editor. Hello. I wrote a page on the Catalan Wikipedia about a beautiful modernist building in Barcelona. The page is called Casa Condeminas. Gracias: Casa Condeminas Casa Condeminas (Catalan modernism) was built in the middle of the 19th century, around 1860, and renovated at the beginning of the 20th century. Despite occupying a single plot, the building is comprised of two very different structures. History Casa Condeminas has two façades. A modernist one overlooking Passeig de Colom, 11, and another one overlooking Carrer de la Mercè, 20-24, in Barcelona. The oldest one, the one in Carrer de la Mercè 20-24, is a plain structure that is clearly the work of a master builder. The plans are signed by Felip Ubach –a prolific architect at the time–. This façade is six storeys high (ground floor +5) and is one storey lower than the façade in Passeig de Colom. On the ground floor there are six openings, two of which are entrances to businesses or commercial premises, and the others are the windows of these businesses. The other floors have six openings per floor, which are vertically aligned. At the top of the façade there are six openings or rectangular windows that reveal the existence of an air chamber. The Centro de Navieros Aseguradores insurance company commissioned the renovation of the building in the early 20th century to establish their headquarters. The project was entrusted to the architect Josep Pujol i Brull, and construction began in 1902. The refurbishment of the building involved many structural and decorative changes. Apart from adding the modernist decoration on the façade, the entrance from Passeig de Colom and the inside of the properties, the renovation changed the main access to the building to Passeig de Colom, which had been redeveloped after the demolition of the sea wall for the 1888 Universal Exhibition in Barcelona. Other changes included the new distribution of openings on the ground floor of Passeig de Colom, the construction of a separate staircase to access the main floor and the addition of a new floor. The main floor was occupied by the Centro de Navieros Aseguradores and, later on, by the shipping agency Condeminas. The Centro de Navieros Aseguradores remained on the ground floor. The upper floors were residential properties until the 1970s. In 1943 renovations had to be carried out to reinforce the structure of the roof due to the damage inflicted by the air raids of Franco’s forces during the Spanish Civil War. In 1975 an elevator was installed. During the second half of the 20th century, the apartments were turned into offices, causing many modifications and damaging most of the original modernist elements. Hotel and luxury apartments In 2015, Manel Adell, the former CEO of Desigual, bought the entire building with the idea of turning it into a hotel. In 2016, when the new mayor of Barcelona, Ada Colau,

entered into office, a moratorium on new hotels was implemented in the city and the project came to a halt. At the end of 2016, many owners of buildings affected by the moratorium on hotels imposed by Barcelona City Council decided to turn their buildings into apartments instead. This was the case with Casa Condeminas. In 2019, Manel Adell commissioned Uniq Residential to oversee the refurbishing process of turning the building into luxury apartments and their later sale. The building is listed as a Cultural Asset of Local Interest (Bé Cultural d'Interès Local, in Catalan) with protection level B. Modernist architecture The façade in Passeig de Colom “has a vertical structure divided into three parts, from the main floor up, divided by stucco pillars imitating ashlar. The central body is elevated with and includes a decorated top with a large sculptured panel depicting fruit and vegetables. The open-work stone of the main balcony on the first floor and the central balconies of the second and third floors are especially striking. The remaining railings are made of wrought iron.” The large entrance to the building is in the shape of a low arch, with an especially decorated moulding featuring floral motifs and is crowned by a large corbel that creates the illusion of supporting the cantilever of the main floor balcony. At the entrance of the building we can see many original elements remaining from the modernist renovation of 1902. On the right, the hall porter’s cabin is carved in wood with rich floral decorations. There is also stained glass in the crown and frosted glass in the main entrance. Once inside, the framework includes distinctive decorations. The hallway leading to the elevator also retains many decorative elements. Here there is a wooden bench with decorative glass tiles of sunflowers. The mezzanine floor features a staircase with stone steps leading to the main floor. It has a wrought iron railing and includes a wrought iron dragon at the bottom of the staircase. Diacritics[edit]

How do you move a page with diacritics to a version without, whenever I try to I keep getting this error message, ‘The page could not be moved, for the following reason: The page could not be moved: a page of that name already exists, or the name you have chosen is not valid. Please choose another name, or use Requested moves to ask for the page to be moved. Do not manually move the article by copying and pasting it; the page history must be moved along with the article text.’ This happens whenever I try to move any page with diacritics to a version without. @Ale3353: This may be because the title 'without' exists as a re-direct to the title 'with' which Wikipedia has probably decided is the WP:COMMONNAME, I.e. that used in most sources. If there is an article that you want to rename to a title that already exists as a redirect, you can do something called a round-robin move. to turn A into B and B into A, you do: A -> C, B -> A, C -> B without leaving a redirect. Search only redirects?[edit]

Hi, I'm trying to search for the redirects to a certain page. Due to many variations of capitalisation, this task has become arduous. Is there a search term that shows up only the redirect pages? @CX Zoom: The special page Special:WhatLinksHere can be used to show only redirects to any one article (Special:WhatLinksHere/Article Name). It contains three filters, all off by default, that separates transclusions, wikilinks and redirects. This link, for example, show all redirects to Sophie (musician). I need assistance on creating a wikipedia page. I have all information needed and all sources, and I have experience as a staff writer for a paper. Brandonm332 Wikipedia has articles, not mere pages, as part of the encyclopedia. This is a subtle but important distinction. You may find it helpful to use the new user tutorial and read Your First Article. Writing for Wikipedia is different from most other writing, Brandonm332. You say your have all the information needed, but what matters in writing for Wikipedia is not whether you have the information but whether you have the sources. Almost everything in a Wikipedia article should come from reliably published sources, wholly unconnected with the subject of the article. Any of your information which has not been published in a reliable source may not be used in an article.
