Search user contributions by content?[edit]

Is it possible to search user contributions by content? For example, I'd to find my edits containing the word "merge", where I have inserted template:merge. Thanks! fgnievinski (talk) 02:18, 20 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Fgnievinski: I used AutoWikiBrowser's List Comparer to compare your last 25,000 edits with all the articles that contain Template:Merge, and found these 8 articles:

@Fgnievinski: it is possible, though you have to do some work. Basically, when you have the list above, you have to fire an API query similar to this one, replacing the title. The software will then return you the latest revision of that page. After that, you can extract the revision text using a JSON parser and check for the presence of a merge template. How to frame an article about a policeman who attacked a woman and was given what is being seen as a very light sentence[edit]

Hi

Recently in the UK a policeman attacked a woman and was given what is being seen as a very light sentence. There are many many reference sources about it in national newspapers. My question is what is the best way to frame the topic, should it be:

An article about the court case (I'm not able to find the name of the case currently)
An article about the attack its self
Something else? My assumption is it is incorrect to create articles about the people as biographies.

Personally, I feel it is more notorious than notable. Any continuing general notability is for the change in sentencing, as that may be relevant to future cases.

I don't think this is notable enough to sustain a full article, it doesn't seem large or relevant enough; I can't think of any suitable titles since the incident itself is too specific and localized, however I would go with Outrage Over Unjust Verdict (Insert Area Name), but that sounds like a news article. For the record, the OP was asking about a case that was an assault, not a murder, and the assailant (Oliver Banfield) who happened to be a policeman was given a 14-week curfew plus a fine. Thanks all, I think maybe I am not being clear, I am not asking about notability, I'm asking about framing and structure, maybe I can ask in a different way.... Can people suggest good examples of Wikipedia articles about crimes against people which are not murders? The one that sticks out to me as potentially similar is People v. Turner, but I assume there are many others, cases in the UK would be super helpful.

@Chicdat: Hello, and welcome to the Help Desk. MifterBot probbably explained it in his message already, but on Wikipedia all files need to carry information on their copyryright status (Copyright holder, creation date, permission (if appropiate) etc.) and the license they are under ({{Cc-by-sa-2.5}} etc) or how they meet the Fair Use criteria. I see you have already added a license. Based on that, I assume you are the copyright holder. I have added our standard information template ({{information}}) to the image description page. You should fill in the fields there sooner or later. For future uploads, I recommend that you use The File Upload Wizard, which can take care of filling in the provided templates for you. A small point but important. When you use the upload wizard, as already recommended, you are asked to provide the date for the image. You should use the date it was taken, not the date you uploaded it. So, for your chicken, the exif data from the camera says it was taken on 2 January 2021 while the date in the "Description" box says 20 March, which is the date you uploaded it. Since this is English Wikipedia and all but one of the sources are in Arabic, it is difficult to evaluate them. Many, many articles in Wikipedia are rated start class and of low importance to whatever Project is interested in them, so if I were you I wouldn't worry about trying to get the article upgraded: few people will care about its rating. @Pro95mustafa: Those ratings are done wit respect to specific wikipedia "projects". If you want a project to re-evaluate the page, go to the project's talk page and open a discussion there. @Pro95mustafa: For articles like this moving up the quality scale, it would really help the reader if you included some translated quotes from the sources. @Pro95mustafa:, if you want to improve the article you could look at other Iraqi journalist articles. Atwar Bahjat and Hisham al-Hashimi were the first two I found. Use of block quotes for song lyrics[edit]

Stuart Lubbock[edit]

I tried to move the article, Stuart Lubbock inquest to Death of Stuart Lubbock and got into a mess. I've now created the article, 'Death of Stuart Lubbock' and put the material I wanted there. @Proxima Centauri: I have made a history merge and redirected Stuart Lubbock inquest to Death of Stuart Lubbock. Do not make cut and paste moves. Your first move accidentally selected "Template talk" in the namespace field below "New title:" on the move form. You should have fixed it by making a new move from there to Article space.
