Page still a draft

Hi,

I am done editing a new page and I clicked on Publish, but it's still a Draft. I don't understand. How do I publish the page, if clicking on Publish just saves a draft of it? I don't see how to get around this. I have looked all over Wikipedia, but there's no help regarding this issue (not even a Frequently Asked Question). I'm sure I'm not the first person with this issue. Can someone help?

Monikerx "Publish changes" does not mean "publish this to the encyclopedia", it simply means "save changes". Your draft is missing the coding required to submit it for a review(this coding is given if you use Articles for Creation to create a draft). I will add this coding to your draft, but if you were to submit it now, it would be declined quickly, as it is completely unsourced. A Wikipedia article must summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about a topic, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of notability.(in this case, probably the more specific definition of a notable musician) Wikipedia is not a place to just tell about a topic. Please read Your First Article. Frequently asked questions may be found at WP:FAQ.

Please understand that successfully writing a new article is the hardest task to perform on Wikipedia, and it's usually recommended that you first gain experience by editing existing articles, to get a feel for how Wikipedia operates and what is expected of article content. When citing a book, use {{cite book}}:

Always use the source's own title. I don't know where "History of Trinity College [1825-1946], Cambridge University First Boat Club" came from but that is clearly not the title of the book being cited.

How can a "Wikipedia: namespace" block be appealed ?

I had an "aggresive" behavior, so an administrator used his right to block me from editing Wikipedia namespace. The appeal or adminboard are on that namespace, where am I supposed to appeal the block ?GoldROger487 (talk) 12:21, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

They seem to be blocked on ro Wikipedia, not this one. And it looks like that block will expire in a few days anyway. Wikignome Wintergreen^talk 13:19, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

I'm checking to see if there is something like Stewards that have cross-wiki permissions and can check the validity of such a block. Guess it was my fault for responding too actively in an earlier matter, but that subject led to an adminboard proposal for a written change in rules.

I will be active there for quite a long time as I plan to upgrade it, and I feel that this will not be the only time the administrators will ban me (my talk page is patrolled everytime to check that I don't delete old conversations based on an unwritten rule and most of my edits are checked) (-_-") so I will need a solution. Don't get me wrong, I will try to be more concise and will try to not repeat the same point, but I fear that there will always be something to nitpick about. @GoldRoger487: Since no one has followed up on your question, I'll give it a shot. The place to handle ro.Wiki problems is on ro.Wiki - the Stewards only intervene in emergencies or if there are no local admins. I don't know the process there for appealing blocks, but if it's like en.Wiki, you'd appeal either on your talk page, the admin boards, UTRS, or perhaps to Arbcom, depending on what you have access to. But their administrative actions are not subject to review or reversal by folks from other wikis. Wikignome Wintergreen^talk 14:21, 31 October 2021 (UTC)

common.js and vector.js

common.js is executed regardless of which skin you are currently using, vector.js only executes on the Vector skin. Other skins have equivalent scripts, like monobook.js and minerva.js. – Rummskartoffel 15:01, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

How to edit the title or heading of page

If the article in question is Draft:MCQ QUESTIONS, moving it out of draft space would be a complete waste of time: it would be deleted immediately, since it doesn't even remotely comply with Wikipedia requirements and is unsourced promotional waffle. Mysterious reference error

@Jo-Jo Eumerus: The |archive-url= parameter might be being thrown off because there's two https:// strings in the URL, and the |url-access= parameter doesn't seem to recognise free as a value in the documentation for {{cite report}}. —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 16:22, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

Not mysterious. No cs1|2 template supports |url-access=free. No urls is allowed to have whitespace so of course, |archive-url= is showing an error. The url in |url=http://repositorio.segemar.gov.ar/308849217/1811 has not been archived at archive.org. The url in |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20210121073021/https://repositorio.segemar.gob.ar/bitstream/handle/308849217/1811/HG 2769-III_IV_Fiambala_2003_Boletin 364.pdf is dramatically different from the url in |url=.

• |url= uses http; |archive-url= uses https in the snapshot url.
• |url= does not have a path to a pdf document; |archive-url= has a (broken) path to a pdf document.

It is extremely rare for the 'saved' url in |archive-url= (everything after the 14-digit timestamp) to be different from the value in |url=.

Wikiblame points the finger at you.

Oh, and, the timestamp in |archive-url= is 20210121073021 (2021-01-21 07:30:21) which does not match |archive-date=30 October 2021. Those two dates should natch.

@Bbb23: Hi there! There seems to be a way to show only AWB edits, but not to exclude AWB edits. You might want to ask at Wikipedia talk:Recent changes patrol if you don't get an answer here. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 03:20, 31 October 2021 (UTC)

Not that I know of, and if you find one I'd love to know about it. You can "highlight results" AWB edits for ease of skimming past, but that's all I've been able to do. Firefangledfeathers (talk) 03:29, 31 October 2021 (UTC)

Capias and publishing

I've written down everything I want, and Ingo to publish, and I have to do a captia. I do the captia, then it give me another, and another, and another, and it won't stop. @Roastedbeanz1: Do you have any kind of ad blocker enabled? If you do, can you try turning it off? What browser (name and version) are you using? Can you try a different one? – Rummskartoffel 19:33, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

This may be a common mistake that I made myself early on. On Wikipedia, after copy-typing the requested CAPTCHA text into the box, you have to scroll down to the 'Publish changes' button and click it. If instead you click the 'Refresh' button next to the CAPTCHA box, it will just offer you another text to copy. Image placement

Minnehaha (steamboat) has a image that belongs at the top of the History section on the left. Depending on the screen aspect ratio, It can get pushed so far down that it is to the left of the headers of the subsequent sections. This has something to do with the multipart-style {{infobox ship}} infobox that is forcing the image to begin AFTER the infobox. There is a second {{NRHP}} infobox and the image is to the left of that (normal behavior). I have tried {{clear}} but even that doesn't help. MB 22:43, 30 October 2021 (UTC)

Custom protection icons
