Help me template on non-talk pages[edit]

The code that gets used depends on the namespace of the page. If it's outside of any page within a Talk namespace, it will let the user know that it is being used in an inappropriate location. —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 04:14, 2 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Attributing Citation Style 1 (but also 2 if I use it)[edit]

I'm currently using this citation style for personal projects. I copy citations to elsewhere using the automatic citation feature on unsaved revisions on my user sandbox. Assuming I publish things myself, is there a need for attribution, and if so, how? (I'm asking since I copy them. Then again, attribution is usually not necessary for major citation styles.) I believe you're free to use Citation Style 1/2 off-wiki without attribution. I don't think a citation style is copyrightable. If you may use the Chicago citation style or APA style without attribution, I think you should be able to similarly use CS1, which takes elements from those. At most, such as if you directly use text from the Manual of Style, you need to respect Wikipedia's copyrights and follow the license terms, specifically CC BY-SA 3.0, which I believe to be summarized at Wikipedia:Copyrights#Reusers'_rights_and_obligations, but I don't believe this is the case here. – Anon423 (talk) 11:30, 2 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

How to place a delete proposal?[edit]

Can this be corrected - I have correspondence on this gentleman. He was my husband's uncle and his surname IS NOT DIXON BUT DUXON

Hi, Hazel. Wikipedia does not currently seem to have an article on the Hai Ching piracy incident. All of our articles are written by volunteers, none of whom have any obligation to write articles. The incident does appear to be notable by our definition, so it is deserving of an article. If you would like to try your hand at writing such an article, please see WP:FIRST to get started. You must start by finding reliable sources (WP:RS) such as the Hai Ching piracy mentioned by Maproom. If you wish to add your relative's part in the action, you will need to find a reliable source for that, also. We at Wikipedia have no way to correct errors made outside of Wikipedia, but a lot of folks will read and use a Wikipedia article in preference to those other sources, so you will have accomplished your objective. -Arch dude (talk) 17:22, 2 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ownership, editing rights, and deletion of personal page[edit]

Hello, I represent Haim Saban and you have an extensive page related to him. I was wondering if you allowed verified individuals to have full control over their own page to edit, or even delete if desired? What options are there to take ownership of this information?

BlazeWolf is correct, and I would add, to be blunt, we don't really want official representatives to edit articles about the people they represent. Would you ask a newspaper to just let a paid representative of a person write a newspaper article about them? Of course not, because that's not how it works. The same goes for an encyclopedia. If there are any inaccuracies in the article, then the place to raise them is talk:Haim Saban. I've not looked at the article, but negative information (e.g. criminal convictions) will not be removed if it is a) true and b) supported by reliable sources. Article Naming Conventions for Peerage Holders[edit]

I believe it might have to do with a combination of WP:COMMONNAME, MOS:HONORIFICS, and Wikipedia:Naming conventions (royalty and nobility) but asking about this at Wikipedia:WikiProject Royalty and Nobility might help clarify things. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:32, 2 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
