Embedded lists of people and notability[edit]

I had thought that there was a guideline that said that in an embedded list of "notable people" (such as a list of notable residents in an article about a city, or a list of notable alumni in an article about a school), each person needed to meet Wikipedia's notability requirement. But right now I can only find WP:LISTPEOPLE which is about standalone list articles rather than embedded lists. Is there such a guideline about embedded lists of people? CodeTalker (talk) 02:29, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi CodeTalker. In general, notability isn't necessarily required for article content in WP:NNC, but in the case of lists it's often the primary criterion for inclusion as explained in WP:LSC. In many cases, individual entries in such lists seem to be expected to be at least persons about which a stand-alone Wikipedia article could be written (if one hasn't already be written) in order to keep the lists from becoming directories of names, but some articles may have addition inclusion criteria established while others might have more relaxed criteria in place. You may have check an article's talk page to see whether such a thing has been discussed before and whether a consensus was established regarding it. If not, you can start a discussion yourself to seek such a consensus. -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:30, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Education/Help of Page Writing on Wikipedia[edit]

Greetings Wikipedia,

I write from India, with a hope to know more about writing or creating a page on Wikipedia.

Wikipedia has always the go-to platform for any first hand information. Over the years it has gained our respect as writers who are researching for their various needs.

I lead a team of writers myself, and regularly keep getting requests to perform edits or create pages on Wikipedia. In this regard, I would really want to know more if there can be a possible session/masterclass on How To Best Write For Wikipedia -- keeping in mind it's reputation as an unbiased platform.

Is their any way to connect? As the best source of information, we would also like expand the horizons of knowledge sharing.

It would be a pleasure if this can be facilitated.

Regards

@Debjeet Kundu, if you haven't checked WP:TUTORIAL, it's a good place to start. Note also the "For more training information, see also:" section at the bottom. WP:YFA may also be of help.
Reliability of Wikipedia could also be of interest. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 08:02, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Taking longer time to publish[edit]

Hi,

its been more then a month, still our has not been published and through our Wikipedia account, which ever pages we have created its having publish issue. may i know the reason why it's not publishing. Vbeatsmusic (talk) 07:58, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Vbeatsmusic If this is about Draft:Vijayanand or Draft:Chor bazaar, none of those have been submitted for review (you can try WP:SUBMIT). Publication in article-space is not automatic, more at WP:YFA. See also WP:NOSHARE, WP:CORPNAME and WP:COI. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 08:11, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Draft:Vijayanand isn't up to publishing standard at the moment. Draft:Chor bazaar is better but still needs more secondary sourcing.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 08:27, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
In the case of both drafts, you need to read Help:Referencing for beginners & cite the references appropriately before you submit them for review. - David Biddulph (talk) 08:55, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
As i can see i have done it properly. may i know what changes i need to make to get it publish. Vbeatsmusic (talk) 09:32, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
As we can all see, you have not done it properly. The biggest problem is that neither draft cites any sources for its statements. You need to follow each statement by a reference to a source that supports it. You have listed some sources at the end of each draft, but the reader has no way of knowing which source supports which statement. Maproom (talk) 09:52, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Vbeatsmusic: A Wikipedia article about a film named Chor Bazaar (film) already exists. If that's the same film that you're writing about in Draft:Chor bazaar, then there's no need for two articles about the same film. So, instead of trying to create a new article, you should work on improving the one that already exists. -- Marchjuly (talk) 10:31, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I mistakenly edited a page[edit]

I mistakenly edited Yuvna Kim's page, how do I revert it back to the original content please? Vcbehemoth (talk) 14:12, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The page history has an "undo" link. - David Biddulph (talk) 14:14, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have already published the new edit and and I am unable to undo back to the initial information on the page Vcbehemoth (talk) 14:20, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I assume that you are merely wanting to undo your own recent edit, not go back to the initial information on the page. The undo link against your edit in the history will undo that one edit. - David Biddulph (talk) 14:23, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I see that another editor has now reverted your edit. - David Biddulph (talk) 14:24, 26 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
