Chris Gragg (born June 30, 1990) is a former professional American football tight end who played three seasons for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL). Over 32 career games, Gragg totaled 24 career receptions with 2 touchdowns. Born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Gragg played college football for the Arkansas Razorbacks, where he won the 2012 Cotton Bowl. Gragg was drafted by the Bills in the seventh round of the 2013 NFL Draft after he performed well at the NFL Scouting Combine. Gragg finished the 2013 season with 5 receptions for 53 yards and a touchdown. After playing in 2014 for the Bills, in 2015, Gragg set career highs in games played, receptions, and receiving yards. Gragg signed with the New York Jets in 2017, but did not play in any regular-season games for the team after a preseason injury. A Twitter account belonging to Gragg described him as "retired" as of December 31, 2019. Gragg's brother, Will, played college football for the University of Pittsburgh Panthers. (Full article...)

1559 – During a jousting match, King Henry II of France was mortally wounded when fragments of Gabriel Montgomery's lance pierced his eye.
1859 – French acrobat Charles Blondin crossed Niagara Gorge, making him one of the world's most famous tightrope walkers.
1908 – A massive explosion occurred near the Podkamennaya Tunguska river in Siberia, flattening more than 2,150 square kilometres (830 sq mi) of forest (sample pictured).

Jam Gadang is a 26-metre-tall (85 ft) clock tower and major landmark and tourist attraction in the Indonesian city of Bukittinggi, West Sumatra. The structure was built in 1926, during the Dutch colonial era, as a gift from Queen Wilhelmina to the city's controleur. A figure of a rooster was originally placed on the apex, but this was changed into a Shinto shrine–like ornament during the Japanese occupation (1942–1945); following Indonesian independence, the tower's top was reshaped to its present form, which resembles traditional Minang roofs. The tower was damaged in two earthquakes that struck the island in 2007 and was subsequently refurbished. It has been used as an observation post for fire control, and during Ramadan the call to prayer that marks the breaking of the fast is sounded from the tower.
