The Boston area Media & Tech Edit-a-thon 2013 will be hosted by Wiki Strategies, Zombie I Scream, and EchoDitto on Saturday, January 5.
Whether you are brand new to Wikipedia, or a seasoned editor, you are welcome! There will be a workshop for beginners at 10am; the edit-a-thon will be from 11am to 3pm. We plan to focus on media and technology – and probably Zombies – but you are welcome to work on any wiki articles you like. |

Event details[edit]
- Date: Saturday January 5, 2013
- Time: Beginners' workshop: 10-11 am; general editing sessions 11am to 3pm. Lunch will be provided.
- Location: Offices of EchoDitto, 1 Davis Square, Somerville. (Next to the Red Line station, upstairs from CVS.)
- Event: An edit-a-thon! Learn how to contribute to Wikipedia and collaborate with others to write about whatever interests you! Beginners welcome, no experience necessary.
- Hashtag: The Twitter and social hashtag is #wikiathon
Come meet your fellow editors and help improve Wikipedia articles! Don't know how to edit Wikipedia? That's ok, friendly, experienced editors will be here to help!
Regardless of your background, we invite you to come learn about and/or edit Wikipedia with us at this event!
What to bring[edit]
- a laptop (Please let us know if you need to borrow one, we will try to accommodate requests.)
- ideas for topics or articles you might want to work on (see below)
- any relevant reference materials you might have
- any digital photos you've taken that you would like to use on Wikipedia
- or, if you don't have any of the above, just bring yourself :-)
