Welcome! The Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center and the Asian Pacific American Librarians Association are sponsoring a Wikipedia edit-a-thon.

When: Saturday, May 10, 2014, 10am-4pm Where: Junipero Serra Branch of LAPL (4607 S. Main St, 90037)

What to bring: Your laptop, power adapter, and any reference materials you'd like to work from or share.

Focus: The Asian Pacific American experience, particularly in Southern California.

As always, you do not need to be an experienced Wikipedia editor in order to attend.

Background[edit]

The Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center is organizing Wikipedia APA, an editing event for improving and increasing the presence of cultural, historic, and artistic information on Wikipedia pertaining to Asian Pacific American (APA) experiences. The first Wikipedia edit-a-thon dedicated to APA content, this project will occur as physical events on May 10, 2014 in New York City, Washington DC, and Los Angeles, as well as online.
