Please join us on Saturday, February 1, 2014 from 9am – 3pm for ArtAndFeminism 2014. The event will be held at Portland State University's Neuberger Hall (Room 293), located at 724 SW Harrison Street. Prior Wikipedia editing is not required; assistance will be available the day of the event. Attendees should bring their own laptops and power cords. RSVP by signing your username below and/or via Facebook.

Details

No Wikipedia editing experience necessary; as needed throughout the event, tutoring will be provided for Wikipedia newcomers. Female editors are particularly encouraged to attend. If you are unfamiliar with Wikipedia, you might try this training module which will help explain a lot of things, including how to add your signature. Attendees should bring their own laptops and power cords.

Ideas

The following is a sampling of suggested articles to create or add upon. However, feel free to come up with your own ideas! In addition to the suggestions below, editors may consider cleaning up articles on more well-known women artists. Helpful updates could be as simple as: making sure reference links are still appropriate and functional; adding new inline citations/references; adding a photo; adding an infobox; adding data to more fields in an existing infobox; creating headings; adding categories; etc. Editors may also choose to focus on women in design, performing arts, music, architecture, philosophy, politics, etc.

I estimate that at least 40 people attended the event over the course of the six hours. This was a highly engaged and interested group of participants, and there was discussion about hosting similar events in the future. I answered many questions and distributed the remainder of my Wikimedia Foundation educational brochures. Thank you to all attendees and to the ArtAndFeminism 2014 organizers for a highly successful campaign! --Another Believer (Talk) 17:10, 3 February 2014 (UTC)

Another Wikipedia Feminist Art Edit-a-thon, hosted by Ellen Lesperance and the Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA) as part of "The Saturday Series", will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 from 3–6pm at the PNCA Fine Art Library. Please join us! --Another Believer (Talk) 16:28, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
