Wikipedia:Meetup/Simmons College Womens History Edit-a-thon 2014

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Welcome! The Women's & Gender Studies Department at Simmons College is hosting a Wikipedia edit-a-thon.

When: Monday, March 3, from 1:00-5:00 PM

Where: GSLIS Tech Lab, Simmons College.

Focus: Did you know that over 5000 Wikipedia entries on women’s history are just stubs?

And that thousands more of deserving individuals, movements, organizations, and events involving women are just not represented anywhere on Wikipedia? Given how many people turn to Wikipedia as their first source of information, this calls for action – and you can help!

Come celebrate Women’s History Month by increasing the presence of Women on Wikipedia! And learn some mad technology, research, and Wiki skills in the process.
