Wikipedia:Meetup/Simmons College Womens History Edit-a-thon fall2014

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Welcome! The History and Women's and Gender Studies Departments at Simmons College and the Schlesinger Library on the History of Women in America are hosting a Wikipedia edit-a-thon.

When: Thursday, October 23, from 11:00am-4:30 PM

Where: L225 (Lefavour Hall), Simmons College.

Focus: Did you know that over 5000 Wikipedia entries on women’s history are just stubs?

And that thousands more of deserving individuals, movements, organizations, and events involving women are just not represented anywhere on Wikipedia? Given how many people turn to Wikipedia as their first source of information, this calls for action – and you can help!

Come celebrate Women’s history by increasing the presence of Women on Wikipedia! And learn some mad technology, research, and Wiki skills in the process.
