WIKI WIKI WIKI OI OI OI !![edit]

Hello just starting out on my wiki adventure! Storey001 10:40, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I joined to share my knowledge with the Wikipedians - then read the Wiki definition of "expert" and retreated into my shell! Now wondering how best to help. Interests include the origin of languages, physics, and religion. Oh - and a Wiki user for some time.

Hi[edit]

Hello, my name is Richard Kennedy, username RK-SFO and I live in beautiful San Francisco, California. I am isterested in anything that has to to aviation (airports & airplanes) and I'm very good in geography. Hopefully I can benefit wikipedia!

Hello. I'm Xeno, username Xenophilia. I run the web site by the same name and I've used Wikipedia for years as an essential research tool. I'm only now starting to contribute as an editor. I'm interested in and have years of experience in strange topics such as cryptozoology, UFOs and fringe science. Other interests include technology, philosophy, politics, military science, logic, psychology, religion, health, food, art, music and popular culture. Since the birth of the web, long before "blog" was a word, I've been blogging strange news items from all of the above areas in the context of science.

Hey there, im Stephen[edit]

I don't think i'll contribute that much to the project apart from a few adds 'n' edits, but i suppose every bit counts.

Ganzy[edit]

Hi there everyone

At first, Wikipedia intimidated me. After lurking for a year, I finally decided to make a contribution. Life is full of interesting things and one must share what you know.

can you look at fairism by me dr tan

Tamalpa[edit]

I've been making minor Wikipedia contributions anonymously for some time, but finally decided to sign up.

I'm a California writer, website developer, and community television director/producer with a particular interest in California's indigenous people. I've taken my name from our local mountain, Mt. Tamalpais.

I've recently published a science fiction novel, Warrior Brothers. I have more information about the novel on my user page.

The first page I've created is about Kule Loklo, a Native American village in Point Reyes National Seashore in California. I'll be adding more pages related to it as I get the time. Tamalpa 17:21, 3 September 2006 (UTC)Tamalpa[reply]

Champaign[edit]

Hi I am from Champaign, Illinois in the United States. I usually like to do small edits whenever I see something a little off. Please feel free to write me. By the way, I'm actually not all that new because I had an account that fell into disuse and it must have been removed and then I just started up a new one under the same exact name as before. -- Champaign 05:43, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Australia Speaks and Global Topics[edit]

Australia Speaks and Global Topics forum was launched in March 2006 to bring a Discussion Forum on Australian News and Current Affairs for anyone wishing to join us. The forum is FREE, and our latest category we have added is 'Steve Irwin' where we have a news forum, on his tragic death, and a condolences forum, for anyone wishing to leave a message for his family.

Hi everyone, I like the new technology and community focus of the internet. I encourage everyone to contribute to these sites and make the net a better place.

Kingsley_Langenberg[edit]

Hello. I sort of jumped in the deep end of this pool in the process of correcting a minor inaccuracy in the "begonia" article. You see, I am a begoniac. I've been growing and researching them for about 30 years. So I am fussy about the details of the description of my favorite kind of plant.

I see now that using one's own name as a username seems to be gauche. Is it possible to edit one's username? I should go read some faqs before I make more of a fool of myself.

I'm Regeane Silverwolf[edit]

So yah, I'm pretty new...considering...I like maths, music, fiction, history... So...just post a message on my talk page if you wanna.. =D Havin' fun so far!

Neel Chatterjee[edit]

All,

Got into wikipedia while searching for articles on John Le Carre - an author I am re-reading after several years. This time around for the insight he provides into the characters (mostly now my age) rather than the plots which engrossed me some 25 years ago and subsequently as each new book was published.

I live in India and have spent all of my career (28 years) in Adverting, Marketing and Communications. Now I am a free agent looking to dabble in real estate and travel the world at leisure rather than on business trips. Love dogs!

I'm a medical student. My interests range from medical science to electromagnetics to piano performance to astronomy. I'm writing for a couple of medical encyclopedias right now and that keeps me really busy. Comments? Questions? Drop me a line. --DrGladwin 06:22, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lightning91[edit]

I have been reviewing Wikipedia for a few months now. To date I have only made minor edits, although I did write several paragraphs of the Boston Terrier article.

I primarily created this account to help me keep track of my edits. I also wish to help Markspace with his goal of editing the Champions page.

Wikipedia was by far my favorite Web resource for at least 2.5 years (I always enjoy enlightening myself on various obscure topics), but until now I didn't see any need to actually contribute anything. Well, now I do—I think articles on Andromeda can use some work. So, here I go =) Skroderider 22:58, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nauplion[edit]

I joined Wikipedia today because I came across the topic of my 1999 dissertation. I found that with the exception of one sentence, the whole article was lifted word for word from my dissertation. That one sentence was wrong. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bartolomeo_Minio I have corrected it and added a bit more. But I am distressed to find the plagiarism here. Since the dissertation is on the internet, a search engine could have found any of the phrases.

Bore Da[edit]

I've been contributing for a little while now and only just discovered this page exists, so I thought I ought to make a (belated) introduction.

I'm English, but live in South Wales (hence the Welsh... although I have to confess I'm not a Welsh speaker). I have a background in Physics and Engineering, Military History including modelling and wargaming (not the RPG variety!), Teaching and Writing. My main effort on Wikipedia to date is a rewrite of the Parasite Eve II article.

Hello Y'all![edit]

My name is Robert and I am currently a student on my last semester as an undergraduate at the University of Texas at El Paso (hence my user name). I started doing some small-time edits back in March of 2006 but only now have I considered trying to improve articles. My interests vary widely:

  • Cellular Technologies
  • Airplane Spotting
  • Facebooking Fellow Students
  • Scam Baiting
  • Travel

About the part related to scam baiting, I have a particularly strong fondness for it. I am currently deciding on how I can rewrite the Romance Scams article so that it does take on the appearance of a well-written Wikipedia article. Of course if you're reading this and would like to help me out, please get in contact with me. :-)

Caris42[edit]

Hello!

I have been reading Wikipedia articles for several months now. I have yet to directly contribute, but I am sure I will find a way to do so. My intrests are wide ranging, varying from science to religeon, People to places, Current Events to Ancient History. Interestingly enough, I first discovered Wikipedia nearly a year ago; i kept typing searches into Google to find out information on topics, and over and over Wikipedia came up in the top 3 and had exactly what I wanted, so I started going directly there instead of google Searching. I have been hooked ever since. Caris42 19:20, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

JimCubb[edit]

I don't remember how or why I first found the site. I know that I have been reading articles off and on for months. Some I read because I knew absolutely nothing about the subject and wanted to learn, some I read because I knew a little about the subject and wanted to know more and some I read because I knew quite a bit about the subject but managed to forget things as the years passed.

Then at work one day last week, I saw minor errors on three pages including a comma in the middle of a sentence where no comma had any need to be. It was not hurting anything, it merely was not needed -- such as if I had put a comma after the word "sentence" in the previous sentence. I did not want to hide behind anonymity when I made even such minor corrections so I sent myself at home a big reminder to register along with links to where I had found the errors.

When I got home I joined. When I followed the links to the errors I found they had already been fixed.

I read reference works for fun. It is extremely difficult for me to find whey I originally wanted in a standard reference work because I get side tracked by thing that look interesting.

I know a little bit about a lot of things but not enough about anyuthing to write an article. I may be able to contributer to articles, howevever, and know that I will make corrections where the typist knew the correct key was struck but the computer was not paying attention. There is a fair amount of that going around.

Thank you for having me.

Hi, it's good to have joined this site where I can find almost anything I need. I am also glad to be here because I am looking for sites with connections that I had when I was younger, but were taken away from me. I hope to find information on peace spells and talismans, shakras, etc. I look forward to being a part of this site. Blessed be.
