Additional Notes[edit]

When recruiting Online Ambassadors, here is a list of requirements/expectations/responsibilities we should keep in mind. Please add to the list as you see fit.

  • Available mid-Summer 2012, every Online Ambassador must complete a virtual Online Ambassador orientation before signing up to work with a specific class.
  • The main role of the Online Ambassador is to serve as a welcoming advisor to professors and students using Wikipedia in the classroom.
  • The Online Ambassador serves as an important step in preventing copyright violations by monitoring student work and providing constructive feedback about Wikipedia policies. Editors we recruit should understand basic Wikipedia policies and how to communicate them to a new user.
