This peer review discussion has been closed.
I've listed this article for peer review because I want to take it to FL status. Yashthepunisher (talk) 5:38, 1 June 2015 (UTC)

I will comments in a few days, but before that please withdraw the FLC as it is not valid to have WP:PR and WP:FLC open at the same time. --FrankBoy CHITCHAT 10:37, 1 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Comments from FrB.TG
  • I find WP:POV issue here as I find every film mentioned as "critically acclaimed" OR is it that all of his films were praised?
Removed the word from many places, yes most of his films have been praised. --Yashthepunisher (talk) 2:24, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
  • He does not have so many acting (major role) credits in his pocket so why mention so many?
Removed I Am and Encounter, but didn't removed Shagird. As he had a major full-fleged role in the film. Yashthepunisher (talk) 5:09, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
  • "occasional actor" is a little bit weird or I should say... urgh!
Removed. --Yashthepunisher (talk) 5:09, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
  • "known for his work in Hindi cinema" - Replace "Hindi cinema" with "Bollywood" as we always use this term.
Done. --Yashthepunisher (talk) 5:19, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
  • "He later wrote and directed a short tele-film, Last Train to Mahakali (1999)" - Television film sounds much better.
Done. --Yashthepunisher (talk) 5:22, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
  • "His next venture was Black Friday (2007), a film about the 1993 Mumbai bombings" - "1993 Bombay bombings".
Done. --Yashthepunisher (talk) 5:24, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
  • Ref no. 7 does not say that the film Black Friday opened to "widespread critical appreciation".
Rephrased. --Yashthepunisher (talk) 6:19, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
  • "In 2009, he came up with Dev.D" - What do you mean by "came up"?
Rephrased. --Yashthepunisher (talk) 11:24, 3 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • "His first release of in 2010 was the anthology film Mumbai Cutting"
Done. --Yashthepunisher (talk) 5:58, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
  • Can you swipe the places of "Year" and "Title" in the table as every "FL" filmography uses this format.
Tried but It became worse, don't know how to do it. --Yashthepunisher (talk) 4:35, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
  • Do it like you have done in the Television section. First comes "Title", followed by "Year", and "Role". -- FrankBoy CHITCHAT 11:22, 4 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Are you sure that Yudh comes under the "Feature films" category?
Created another table. --Yashthepunisher (talk) 5:32, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
Unable to do so, please help.--Yashthepunisher (talk) 4:30, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
  • Use !scope="row" exactly like you have done in the Television section. -- FrankBoy CHITCHAT 11:22, 4 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Can you mention the upcoming films' stages that they have reached.
Done, but Tigers is a film which has been completed and was screened at the toronto film fest, but is awaiting for a theatrical release. What I should write? --Yashthepunisher (talk) 2:30, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
  • Centering the refs. make them look better.
Is it looking good now?--Yashthepunisher (talk) 3:01, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
  • Awards (in the table) should be restricted to the National Film Awards and Filmfare as in filmography we have the most notable ones.
Done. --Yashthepunisher (talk) 5:56, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
  • Link the publisher of the reference on its first instance.
Don't know how to do it.--Yashthepunisher (talk) 4:30, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
  • YouTube source is not acceptable especially if it is by an unknown user (I mean not by an official channel). BTW a YouTube source only acceptable when there is no other reliable source available. -- FrankBoy CHITCHAT 21:05, 2 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Comments from Krimuk90
  • Black Friday " was finally released in 2007 to positive reviews". Needs a source. You have cited only one review.
  • Only one review cited for No Smoking being a critical failure.
  • When was Return to Hanuman released? No year present in parenthesis.
  • "Kashyap's production company Anurag Kashyap Films, released its first film, the critical hit Udaan (2010).". Cited source does not corroborate the claim that Udaan was his production company's first release.
  • "one of the short film" => "one of the short films"
  • " followed by the anthology film Bombay Talkies (2013), which was made for celebrating the centenary year of Indian Cinema". He directed one of the films in it, which needs to be mentioned. Also, the second part of the sentence sounds a bit excessive for a filmography page.
  • Why is the "c" of Indian cinema in caps?
  • I don't understand why you have a single sentence like this: "Alongwith the biographical drama Shahid". That's not how sentences are constructed.
  • "Later that year, his another production company Phantom Films..". Needs a background. We can begin by saying that he set up another production company and then talk about Lootera.
  • Not clear if he directed or produced Lootera or Queen.
  • A bit background on Bombay Velvet is a must. The film was his most-expensive film, and was hugely hyped in the media. We must also mention on how it failed to recover its massive investment.
  • In the notes column of the table, you don't use the correct dash(—) consistently. For reference, they should look this: "Nominated—Filmfare Award for xxx" and not "Nominated - Filmfare Award for xxx".
  • Why does Paanch, an unreleased film, have a release year in the year column?
  • Did he produce Kaatiyabaz and The World Before Her, or just present it?
  • "Directed one story out of four" ==> "Directed one segment"
  • Release year for Tigers is unsourced.
  • Post-production on Ghoomketu is unsourced.
  • Please be consistent with caps in the references. I can see atleast two instances where it's not.
  • You don't mention the directors for any of his other production ventures, then why suddenly mention the director for the 2013 short film Chai? --Krimuk|90 (talk) 03:41, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

All of your comments has been resolved, except the one about Bombay Velvet and caps in the references. Can you suggest what should be written about BV? --Yashthepunisher (talk) 3:00, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

Come on, you didn't resolve the first two comments at all. Both the claims need a source that says the films received positive reviews. Just sampling two reviews doesn't exactly help, you see. You can see this source for both the claims. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 05:55, 8 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Done
  • "Kashyap's production company Anurag Kashyap Films, released its first film, Udaan (2010)" is both an incorrect and an incomplete sentence.
The source says it was his first production venture...how can I complete it?
  • " in the Amitabh Bachchan starrer television mini-series Yudh (2014)" ==> "in the Amitabh Bachchan-starring"
Done
  • "and subsequently presented two documentary film's," Why is there an apostrophe? You are talking about two films.
Removed
  • About Bombay Velvet, you can write exactly what I said. The film was made on a massive 120 crore budget, and earned less than 30% of that, or such.
Mentioned
  • You have a section titled "Film" in which you divide it into "Feature films" and "Short film". Why do you then create a separate section altogether for "Documentary films"?
Done
  • The 'k' of Kashyap needs to be in caps in ref no. 26.
Done
  • The release of Tigers hasn't been announced as yet, so why list it before the films that a 2015 release date? --Krimuk|90 (talk) 06:04, 8 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have given the article a copy-edit, as some of the comments weren't addressed correctly. Now, you need to ensure that the authors in your references are formatted in this format: "last name, first name". For example, ref. no 14 follows this correct format, but ref. no 15 does not. --Krimuk|90 (talk)

  • Why is the first film in the table named Jayate. In the cited source, the film is named ...Jayate...Jayate. If Jayate is the actual title, then you might want to use this source.
Its not ...Jayate...Jayate, its only ...Jayate
  • In the parenthesis in the table, either say "only dialogues" or simply "dialogues". You use "only dialogues" for all except one. Be consistent. I would prefer to simply say "dialogues".
Done
Actually, wouldn't it be so much easier to use footnotes to convey this information. This will prevent the column from unnecessary bloating. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 06:32, 10 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ref. 108, The Viewspaper, will not meet the WP: RS criteria. Please replace with a better source. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 01:55, 10 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • This source says Masaan won two prizes at Cannes, but you mention only one.
  • In the table, why is it not mentioned that he co-edited Queen? Also, why is it not mentioned that he shared his Filmfare editing award with Kokate?

That's all from me. --Krimuk|90 (talk) 06:21, 10 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Mentioned Masaan's 2nd award and abhijat kokate. Its already mentioned in the lead that he co-edited the film, and also there is no place where It can be mentioned. --Yashthepunisher (talk) 11:56, 11 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
