The lead paragraphs are a bit too glowing for me. "His devotion to republicanism and civic virtue made him an exemplary figure", "As the symbol of republicanism in practice", "And no one, even today, presumes to challenge the funeral oration of Henry Lee that among all Americans, he was "first in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of his countrymen". These things might or might not be true, but they all seem calculated to paint a positive (as opposed to neutral) POV of the man. Lankiveil 01:24, 10 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]
