Why oh why can't my Samsung Galaxy S5 phone remember Wi-Fi passwords?[edit]

I had hoped a recent Android update (to 5.0) would help but it didn't. Hayttom (talk) 12:03, 26 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Could this be intentional, for security reasons ? That is, if somebody remotely hacks your phone, and then gets your WIFI PW, they could then use your phone to access the internet. StuRat (talk) 19:00, 28 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
They couldn't very easily open my phone, but if they did I don't think their use of the Internet would be my biggest worry. Isn't it usual for phones to remember Wi-Fi passwords? My previous phone (an HTC) did. Hayttom (talk) 05:01, 29 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it is usual for phones, tablets and laptops to remember WiFi passwords. They can remember many different passwords for different networks and automatically log on when they detect the WiFi transmitter. I don't know why yours doesn't. Dbfirs 07:40, 29 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Bluetooth headset paired but no sound in both Windows 7 and Android 5[edit]

I have an LG HBS 730 Bluetooth headset. It used to work fine with my Windows 7 desktop PC and Android phone (Samsung S5) and tablet (Tesco Hudl 2). It stopped working with my PC; although the headset paired correctly and the Windows sound dialogue box showed that data is being transmitted, no sound was played by the headset. This could not be fixed by unpairing and re-pairing. After a week or so the same thing happened with my Android phone; I know that a connection is made because I hear white noise that starts when I attempt to play music and ends shortly after I stop the music playing. Again this cannot be fixed by unpairing and re-pairing. The headset still works fine with my Android tablet but I expect this may eventually go the same way. Any ideas? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.148.108.107 (talk) 12:30, 26 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Firefox bookmarks refuse to dropdown[edit]

After I visit a certain website, that I'd rather not name, every single time, my Firefox (latest version but always also in prior versions) bookmarks will not function. When I click on the bookmarks while visiting that site, or after I have closed the tab and then click on bookmarks, it won't dropdown. Seemingly the only way to fix this is to dump cookies and cache or close Firefox entirely (quit it) and then reopen (which I have set to automatically dump all cookies) – just opening up a new window or closing the browser but not quitting leaves the error in effect. Anyone have any idea what that could be? Can it be the cookie is doing this?--108.46.106.100 (talk) 19:01, 26 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Intel ProSet Wifi Connection not working[edit]

My Intel ProSet Wifi Connection doesn't work anymore - the icon is gone from the taskbar, the manual diagnostics tool found fault with the association test (which I didn't understand, even after reading the section on ftp://download.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/4965agn_genericug.pdf )... so I updated the driver, then I downloaded the next driver ("Intel PROSet/Wireless Enterprise Software", acc. to some internet query which resembled my issue)... now even the driver test of the diagnostic tool is negative, and the "Download Intel Driver Update Utility" claims that my driver is 15.11.0.9 and the latest version is 15.11.0.7. I tried to use the intel forum, but my post gets rejected.

I'm using Windows7.

Thanks for any and all help!!! I need the wireless to be working within the next few hours for some urgent business, away from my usual cable internet! :( --Thanks for answering (talk) 23:07, 26 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Bizarre. I've once more removed all and re-installed... and suddenly it works. No more help needed (this time)! :) --Thanks for answering (talk) 09:02, 27 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
