Google photos trying to force an update[edit]

I have an android phone (Moto G4+, Android 7.0) and use the camera app sometimes, and the photo app to look at the pictures. I don't use Google Drive, don't have a Google account, and don't want to enroll one. I only want to look at the pictures on the phone (or upload them myself), not online. Some months back the photos app started nagging me to install an update, which I ignored by clicking "not now". But today it went further and said I could no longer use photos unless I took the update (really now, just to look at the photos locally, sheesh). So fine, I gave in and clicked "update". However, that doesn't seem to do anything. My phone froze up and rebooted (not completely sure that was related) but the update button still doesn't seem to do anything. Weirdly, after pressing update, the photo app works as usual. Any idea what is going on? I guess I will look for an alternate photo app on f-droid. I have avoided the google update so far figuring that if they want so badly for me to install it, their reasons for that desire must be bad. Thanks. 2601:648:8202:350:0:0:0:BA42 (talk) 01:07, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

How suppress iPhone Apple Pay message?[edit]

I get this message all the time saying "Finish Setting Up iPhone Apple Pay is ready to be set up in Settings". It is annoying. I must enter card but I have no card. How suppress this message please? Thank you. Hevesli (talk) 11:46, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Go into it, as if you are going to set it up and you should see at the bottom of the screen "Set up later in Wallet", choose that and that should do the trick. - X201 (talk) 11:55, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't know how to report this so I am posting this info here.

IMO this is just yet another Wikipedia mirror. As long as they're not *editing*, there's not much to worry about. Duckmather (talk) 17:25, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
