April 16[edit]

Classic piece[edit]

Does anyone know the name of the classic peice usually played for dramatic events in TV and Movie scenes? I know its got a drum and some type of wind instument (like a horn or something) and is instantly recognizable. TomStar81 (Talk) 05:10, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to guess that what Tom is thinking of is the bit of music famously used at some dramatic points in 2001: A Space Odyssey -- which is a tone poem by Richard Strauss called Also sprach Zarathustra (or in English, "Thus Spake Zarathustra"). --Anonymous, April 16, 2007, 05:32 (UTC).
  • Fanfare For The Common Man by Aaron Copland?hotclaws**== 10:24, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Anonymous is correct, that was the piece I was looking for. Thank You. TomStar81 (Talk) 07:51, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I looked under 2004#Deaths, but don't see a match. StuRat 15:46, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If you're of a mind, you could peruse Category:2004 deaths. Corvus cornix 23:11, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Translation: "of a mind" = "willing to spend the time" (at least in this instance). StuRat 01:18, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Correct, as in, "I don't want to do it, but if you do, go for it"  :) Corvus cornix 16:29, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The only openly gay TV superstar I can see on the 2004 death list is Paul Winfield, but his long-time partner died in 2002. Also Winfield was 64, not 48. --Charlene 00:31, 19 April 2007 (UTC) the actual answer was marlon brandon and wally cox.thanks anyway[reply]

What drum & bass track was featured in this TV episode?[edit]

Does anyone know the name of the D&B track being played while Karl is being tortured in Room 23 during Lost - S03E07 - Not in Portland? I'd link to a sample but I'm unsure of the legality. I'd appreciate it, thanks. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 202.10.86.63 (talk) 14:37, 16 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

That's a good question, I will try to find out for you! You might want to keep an eye on the trivia section at Not in Portland and List_of_songs_featured_on_Lost#Season_3. --Lets Be Friends 21:07, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
