Arthur Beckerman, Beezles[edit]

Hi, my Aunt used to have a children's book called "When the Beezles Got the Measles" by Arthur Beckerman. It was published around 1964. My question is, what happened to Arthur Beckerman? I've tried to get a copy of the book, and there weren't very many published so they are horribly expensive. Actually those are used copies at Amazon. Impressive prices for a 36-page book!

Neither [1] (the Library of Congress) nor [2] (Worldcat) lists any other books by Arthur Beckerman besides this one. [3] (the British Library) has nothing for him. Worldcat's "identity page" for him mentions the one book, of course, but has no other information about him. So it does seem as though this was indeed his only book. On a Google search for his name, there are about 50 hits but nothing to indicate whether they are the same Arthur Beckerman unless they are talking about the specific book. The first hit does give something else written by an Arthur Beckerman: a 2002 article in an online publication called "The Jewish Magazine" comparing Yasser Arafat to Adolf Hitler. As I say, no indication of whether this might be the same guy. --Anonymous, 03:54 UTC, September 1, 2007.
