Canadian curling - numbers on sweaters[edit]

Hi - after trying to find it on your site, sorry, couldn't - can you explain why Canadian curlers now have numbers on the back of their 'sweaters'? This is a relatively new thing, last few years, and we can't find out why. Thanks very much 70.77.140.58 (talk) 02:55, 25 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The widespread adoption of numbered jerseys seems to have been driven by the requirement that all teams participating in Capital One Grand Slam of Curling bonspiels wear numbered jerseys. Bradford City[edit]

If Bradford City win the League Cup here in a month, does that mean they will be eligible for a Europa League spot next season? Or does that only apply to Premier League clubs?Nicholasprado (talk) 05:41, 25 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think they will be eligible, yes. From Europa League#Qualification: "A few countries have secondary cup competitions but the only countries which currently grant a UEFA Europa League place to their secondary cup winners are England and France." --Viennese Waltz 08:27, 25 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The only difficulty they could have is if Valley Parade does not meet the requirements of a Eurpoa League stadium. Stadia must be up to UEFA Category 4 standard to be used in the main competition. Of course, if the stadium isn't up to scratch, Bradford wouldn't be prevented from competing, they'd just have to find an alternative venue: Elland Road would probably do fine. I can't find a definitive answer which says what category Valley Parade falls in to, but this suggests they should be ok. - Cucumber Mike (talk) 12:20, 25 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Scottish regiment being piped into battle[edit]

Well, I'm not sure if it's specifically Scottish troops, but in The Longest Day Lord Lovat's (Peter Lawford's) unit is accompanied by a piper who plays, for instance, when when they come to the relief of the troops on Pegasus Bridge. Kirsty Hawkshaw sample in b complex song[edit]

Dear wikipedia, in the song Beautiful lies by B complex, which Kirsty Hawkshaw song does it sample? i've deduced that the voice in the song indeed does most definatly belong to hawkshaw, but i'm not sure as to which song it is that B complex sampled. 199.101.61.190 (talk) 20:47, 25 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
