March 3[edit]

Who was that?[edit]

I remember that Jim Carrey was giving the award to some old gentleman and this gentleman was rushing towards the wall and grabbing an Oscar right from the hand of Jim. Who was he? What award was he given? Which year was that? Donmust90 (talk) 02:19, 3 March 2016 (UTC)Donmust90Donmust90 (talk) 02:19, 3 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

He was presenting an Honorary Academy Award to Blake Edwards. The way it was presented was a tribute/parody of the slapstick that Edwards was adept at. MarnetteD|Talk 02:28, 3 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Looking for the name of an old videogame[edit]

This game looked like a boardgame on the computer. You and your (AI) opponent are two colored discs (green and purple if I remember correctly). The board is hex based. If you move a distance of 1 you clone yourself, if you move a distance of 2 you move. All hexes around the landing location change to that color (if they are occupied). Its probably over 10-15 years old. I have found a clone which is called Pobs. The Quixotic Potato (talk) 23:12, 3 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

There are many such games like that. I've played a few of them on various platforms over the years. So, I wish you luck in finding the needle in the box of needles. They're all based on Go just with different variations such as the jumping 2 spaces. Dismas|(talk) 00:02, 4 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, this question is quite difficult. All I can remember about the name of the game is that I thought (back then) that it was a poorly chosen name, because I found it difficult to remember. The Quixotic Potato (talk) 12:38, 4 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I remember a game like this called Hexxagon. Wikipedia redirects Hexxagon to Ataxx (same rules using square spaces), where it shows a Hexxagon screen shot in the middle of the page, and finally mentions Hexxagon at the very end of the text. --Bavi H (talk) 04:13, 4 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Hexxagon is amazingly similar, especially clones like this one. I think the game I am talking about was a clone of Hexxagon. Winning a game would send a shockwave across the board. The Quixotic Potato (talk) 12:38, 4 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
