April 30[edit]

Truck hijacking scene in Fast & Furious 4[edit]

Where was this scene filmed? I've been told this wasn't actually done in the DR. 78.0.192.253 (talk) 17:10, 30 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Presumably "Dominican Republic", which appears briefly as a caption at the start of the clip. AndrewWTaylor (talk) 20:34, 30 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
According to IMDB the Dominican Republic was used as a location for the film, though it doesn't go in to any detail. AndrewWTaylor (talk) 20:42, 30 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Personally I'm thinking Mexico or Antelope Valley. It would be nice to know where that road is. 78.0.192.253 (talk) 00:11, 1 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It looks like Templin Highway to me. It is used in multiple movies and, over the years, has looked worse and worse as it slowly breaks down. 209.149.113.5 (talk) 14:50, 1 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, yeah it seems so [1]. Shame, I hoped the drop at 3:48 was real. 78.0.245.29 (talk) 16:37, 1 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
If it is a paved road with dirt and bushes in low mountains, it tends to be Templin Highway. If it is in the middle of the desert with a mountain to one side, it tends to be be an unmarked highway near Cadiz. I drove both many times when I lived in 29 Palms. It was a pain when I'd get halfway down the road and it was blocked with a film crew. Though less common now, a winding mountain road in a forest was used in many movies. It is the Ortega Highway. Once you drive them a few times, they kind of stand out in the movies - like when you watch a movie shot in your hometown and you recognize a local law office but it is dressed up as a gang bar. Kind of messes up the whole illusion. 209.149.113.5 (talk) 17:14, 1 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
On a side-note, I've seen all of the Fast & Furious films. Apart from the new one. And the first seven. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 17:00, 1 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
