Beethoven's variations[edit]

Hi, I am looking for Beethoven's piano variations relevant to the second movement of his Piano Sonata No. 24 in F♯ major, Op. 78, nicknamed à Thérèse. Sir András Schiff talks about the variations and performs some notes of the work here in a lecture-recital (11:10 to 11:40). May somebody help me find the "Variations"? — Hamid Hassani (talk) 01:32, 11 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You can download Beethoven: The Diabelli Variations; Piano Sonata No.24 in F sharp, Op.78 on GooglePlay, but it'll cost you $1.29 (or sign up for a "free trial"). 107.15.157.44 (talk) 02:00, 11 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It is not Diabelli. — Hamid Hassani (talk) 19:34, 11 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The second phrase of the opening of the second movement is (or sounds like) an extract from Rule, Britannia, which Beethoven had written a set of variations on (WoO 79). See also here. AndrewWTaylor (talk) 07:35, 12 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Schiff plays part of Rule, Britannia in the lecture oops: as mentioned in the question. Score of the variations at IMSLP. AndrewWTaylor (talk) 07:39, 12 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@AndrewTaylor: Yes! This is what I was looking for. Thank you. — Hamid Hassani (talk) 05:26, 13 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Note: I just added notes, based on yours, here and here. — Hamid Hassani (talk) 05:39, 13 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
