George Rufus Adams[edit]

searching for individuals that personally or professionally knew George R. Adams — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.118.160.119 (talk) 10:45, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia has an article about him which you can find at George Adams (musician). It lists many of the people he worked with. --Jayron32 12:54, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Little House on the Prairie: Funny episode[edit]

Which episode of Little House on the Prairie had a scene where a masked man came into a house with Laura or Mary and others and they start laughing at him when he takes off his mask? 81.101.108.252 (talk) 12:50, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia has an article titled List of Little House on the Prairie episodes which has a short plot description of each. --Jayron32 12:55, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Non-responsive squabbling
The idea is for us as the ref desk respondents to go through that list and look for the episode in question, rather than expect the OP to do it himself. If there is no mention of such a scene anywhere in the list, we should say "here's a list of episodes, but it doesn't seem to mention that scene anywhere". Then we've done our job properly. --Viennese Waltz 14:27, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
No, you've got it backwards. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 20:35, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree. That's also why I dislike your regular reply to questioners "what have you found on Google so far?" It's not up to the questioner to look for answers to their questions on Google. That's our job. --Viennese Waltz 11:48, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Is it our (unpaid) "job" to point the way, or to lead by the nose? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 14:28, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
To lead by the nose, yes. To put it another way, it's our job to provide the answers to questions, not to tell questioners where to find the answers for themselves. --Viennese Waltz 15:26, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Then how will the OP learn anything? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 16:13, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
What do you mean, learn anything? They're here to get answers to questions. We provide those answers. That's how this place works. --Viennese Waltz 16:36, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Scanning the list suggests the episode in season 4 titled "The Creeper of Walnut Grove" (ep.6) to be most likely. Although no mask is mentioned, it concerns a thief (who conceivably might wear a mask) and the episode is considered to be humorous (see User Reviews):[1] The only mention of a mask in the list is in "Sylvia: Episode 1" (s7,ep.17), which is definitely not a humorous episode. 107.15.157.44 (talk) 14:51, 17 December 2020 (UTC)...[edit:15:12, 17 December 2020 (UTC)][reply]

World War I films/TV series - American perpective[edit]

Are there any World War I films/TV shows involving the American military from 1917 to 1918? 81.101.108.252 (talk) 20:18, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wings (1927 film) and Sergeant York (film) come to mind. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 20:34, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
More recently there's Flyboys, but it's about Americans under French command before the US entered the war. --174.95.161.129 (talk) 21:57, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
There are plenty of American films on the List of World War I films; (most are comedies, musicals or romances). 107.15.157.44 (talk) 22:28, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Another example is The Lost Battalion (2001 film). Alansplodge (talk) 11:34, 18 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
