Original lyrics of "I am very glad, because I'm finally returning back home" (aka Trololo)[edit]

I asked this question a few years ago here but I didn't get a proper response. Were the original lyrics of the song "I am very glad, because I'm finally returning back home" (also known as the Trololo song) by Eduard Khil ever publicly released? For context, the song's original lyrics were censored (apparently either due to political reasons or due to a disagreement with the lyricist), which is why Khil sang it with nonsense lyrics (as seen in this video). My impression from the article is that the lyrics (which seemingly reference US "cowboy" culture) were not actually censored by any official body, but that Kyril thought they probably would be (or would at least make him unpopular), because of the political and cultural antipathies of the time, and therefore chose not to use them. The songwriter likely disagreed.

I can't answer your question myself, and the lack of other responses suggests that no other English Wikipedia editors active here can either. I think you would be more likely to get answers at the Russian Wikipedia, given that the song was later covered (with or without the actual lyrics I can't say) by other Russian performers on Russian TV. {The poster formerly known as 87.81.230.195} 90.205.58.107 (talk) 09:23, 14 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Small correction based on info from Russian Wikipedia [1]. Ostrovskiy himself wrote the "Trololo" lyrics, apparently out of a disagreement with his songwriter partner, Lev Oshanin. Ostrovskiy's son said the cowboy lyrics were by Vadim Semernin (Вадим Николаевич Семернин). My Russian isn't great but it seems that Ostrovskiy's son is saying that Semernin supplied the cowboy lyrics after someone put a stop to the "Trololo" idea, but in the end the cowboy lyrics were censored and the "Trololo" text was given the green light. 89.172.2.183 (talk) 22:26, 15 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
