New Testament apocryphal document written by known orthodox guy[edit]

I'm looking for a specific document with the following criteria:

It's an early Christian document, more likely the Acts of Somebody but with a slight possibility of being the Gospel of Somebody.
It's pseudoepigraphical, either claiming to be by an eyewitness to Somebody's acts or claiming to be a gospel account written by Somebody.
It's distinctly orthodox, not advocating any of the numerous heresies of the pre-Theodosian period.
Not long after it was written, the author was revealed to be an orthodox individual, who was soon sanctioned by the Church for producing a hoax.

I thought it was the Acts of John, but that article discusses its Docetic and Gnostic influences and its anonymity. None of the pages linked by {{New Testament Apocrypha}} appear to meet my criteria. Does such a document exist (i.e. it's not on the template, or I missed it), or am I imagining something? Nyttend (talk) 03:05, 31 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
