September 24[edit]

does someone know how much it cost a sponsor, that the trainer of Bayern München shows a closed bottle in front of him?[edit]

The funny think is, that there is a regular Logo behind him of Paulaner and he is having a Paulaner closed bottle in front of him during the interview.. And I can also see a coca cola bottle but no coca cola logo in the background in the picture. Does someone has details how much a sponsor may have to pay for this? --Hijodetenerife (talk) 13:14, 24 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Product placement requires that the company wishing to pay for the advertising have made payment and arrangements beforehand to place the product in the media. I'm not aware that persons are allowed to blackmail corporations by using their product in media, and then demanding after-the-fact to be paid for it. --Jayron32 13:19, 24 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
When using a name brand product in a movie or TV show, it's best to get permission from the company, to absolve you of any legal claims. For example, if you made a movie about a serial killer, and he was shown eating a particular brand of candy, they could conceivably sue and say you tarnished their reputation, unless they gave permission first. Famously, M&M's didn't give permission for the movie ET to use their candy, so they had to go with Reese's Pieces, instead, who did give permission. Others just don't bother getting permission and use their own fake foods and drinks. For example, on All in the Family, Archie's beer looked like it had shelf paper glued to it to cover the label. Might there not be a Coca-Cola corporate logo in the background display but not visible? The announcer seems to be blocking some logos and some seem to go off-screen on the right. Bus stop (talk) 14:17, 24 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Opaque window fan ?[edit]

I have a bathroom without an exhaust fan. Adding one would mean ripping out the wet plaster ceiling, so that's out. Instead I would like to put in a window fan. However, privacy is a concern, being a bathroom. So, what I'd really like is a window fan you can't see through, whether on or off. Conceptually, it would need to have more fan blades, which overlap, more like a boat prop than a normal fan. Presumably the extra weight of those blades will make it less efficient, and that's OK. I also considered a normal window fan with louvers that only raise when the fan is on, but then you could still see through the fan and louvers when it was on. So, does the fan I describe exist ? What keywords should I use to find one ? StuRat (talk) 13:22, 24 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Is there some reason why you can't just just add a grille to the front or back (probably both) of the fan, as would be the norm for most normal extractor fans? [1] [2] [3] Also why would adding a wall mounted extractor fan [4] require ripping out the ceiling? Putting a fan not designed for the bathroom or wet areas in the bathroom seems a recipe for shock hazards and insurance nightmares, even more so since it seems likely any electrician willing to install the thing probably isn't one you want working on your house. Cost is the main concern. A window fan costs about $13 here, and I have 10 already. Installing an exhaust fan seems to run around $1000. That's a hell of a difference. A grill is one option, although one that I can open and close is better than a fixed grill. Also, I suspect there would be more drag from a double grill than from the overlapping fan blades I described. StuRat (talk) 20:00, 26 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
A simple fan in the bathroom (not exhausting to the outside) might alleviate the problem. I have done that. After taking a shower, upon exiting the bathroom, I turn on the fan. I direct it to the shower area. I guess it causes humidity in the rest of the house. But it has not been noticeable. Mold was forming on the wall and ceiling near the shower. The room was repainted. To prevent a recurrence of the moldy situation I started using the fan. It seems to be working as the mold has so far not come back. Bus stop (talk) 14:31, 24 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
