St. John The Evangelist Church history and picture[edit]

Hello,

I have found in family albums pictures that where going to go to the dump as no one remembered where they had been taken or knew the peoples on them, I can only guess it was in the 1950's or 60's

I saved those photo and found some had been taken in Rochester, one was of a church that looks like the current St. John The Evangelist Church in Greece, New York but with nothing around, not even the old church that was probably behind the photograph.

I would like to know when this church has been built, if there is another church looking similar in the area (the photograph was staying in Rochester at the time)

On the photo I found on internet, there is in front of the church a kind of low roof that is not on the picture, and the wall above the current roof is a bit different in color, has it been redone later? The photo might have been taken during construction but even if the land in front is bare, there is no construction site around. It might also been taken from the other side, I could not find any pictures of the back.

Last question but not least, I have no clue of what the rules of panorama are in USA, is it possible to publish a picture of this building in commons?

About Our Parish from the Saint John the Evangelist Parish website has a section "St. John the Evangelist Church - History" which says groundbreaking was May 6, 1963; cornerstone September 15, 1963, and first Mass was November 7, 1964. It also says "The parish center was added to our campus and was erected in 1981" but nothing about post-1964 modifications to the church building. jnestorius^(talk) 13:29, 23 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
c:Commons:Freedom of panorama#United States suggests Commons will allow you to upload there if you add a tag {{FoP-US}}. However, if the photo was not taken by you then you need the permission of the person who took it (or their heir if they are dead). Thank you very much, I know the issue regarding the photograph, it is a complicated subject, the picture I have is of the back of the building, before the two smaller buildings that we can see in google earth where built, I had not installed Google Earth, only Street View so I could not see that before asking, it is even possible that the residential areas on the side were not there either. I think this is a nice looking building that would deserve a picture in commons, mine is old and not of a very good quality. --Cqui (talk) 15:49, 23 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

UK Passport[edit]

Jeremy Corbyn just said in PMQs that 9 million people in the UK do not have passports. He cited the census as the source of that statistic. Here. This says: "Of the 56.1 million usually resident population of England and Wales in 2011, 76 per cent (42.5 million) held a UK passport, 7.4 per cent (4.2 million) held a foreign passport only (of which 372,000 were Irish passports). There were 17 per cent (9.5 million) who stated they did not hold a passport." Those figures do not include Scotland or Northern Ireland. Please remember to sign your messages in future. Yes, if he said UK I expect he should have said England and Wales. I live in Scotland and don't remember being asked about passports and this seems to be confirmed here Thincat (talk) 18:12, 25 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
