Need help identifying a town[edit]

I'm trying to help verify a particular male supercentenarian:

Apparently his birthplace is listed as "Filiskouse", apparently somewhere in Lithuania, but I don't actually know what Lithuanian city (or town, or village) this is referring to since a city by that name doesn't actually exist. Any help here? Futurist110 (talk) 04:16, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The closest geonym I have been able to find is that of a now depopulated hamlet, Filicijanavas, near the Polish border, Polish name Felicyanowo. At the time, it was part of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. Not really close. There are several records at Geni.com for people by the name Juozas Saparnis or Šaparnis (the Lithuanian spelling), but none are a good fit.  --Lambiam 08:03, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

GEO (Magazine)-Need Information[edit]

My husband & I received an English version of the GEO magazine for several years in the late 70s. We were living in New Hampshire at the time and have no idea how wide spread the publication in the US was at that time. We have been looking for it again, and there is nothing in the Wikipedia article, or anywhere on the official website that indicates it was ever published in the US, and after quite a bit of net research we could find nothing about the English publication at all. We have had a print from the magazine for over 40 years. I was unable to upload the photos which showed the full print and the print title, location and photo credit as follows: GEO PRINT: Landscape, Guilin, People's Republic of China Aerial Photograph by Hiroji Kubota/MAGNUM Now we are curious why the English version is “lost to time”. If it has any relevance to the article, we hope some one will check it out. Thanks for your time! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Resolute Wiki User (talkcontribs) 14:58, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

GEO (magazine) is the one I remember. DOR (HK) (talk) 21:15, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It was published in an English edition in India by the Outlook Publishing (India) Pvt. Ltd starting mid 2008,[1][2] but discontinued after five years in 2013.[3]  --Lambiam 10:14, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
