Please provide me with some feedback on this article about a large Macedonian power station.

It's a nice stub; I think it could benefit from an infobox of some sort and maybe an expansion, although I think the article nicely summarises the subject as it is. Good job! Chevymontecarlo 11:49, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, can someone help me with these:

1. How do I put an image for a screenshot in the infobox at the right side of the article? 2. The article references show the link only as a number but the text description of the reference doesnt show.

Hello, I would like to request general feedback concerning my Litteraria Pragensia article. After all, it is my first contribution to Wikipedia, so I might have overlooked some glitches, even though I checked through it. Basically, the article should give a general background of what Litteraria Pragensia is, where it is situated, who is involved and which publications it has released.

Thank you for your time.

I looked at your article and personally feel it is pretty good and definitely useful. But since I have never written an article on such a topic, I looked at Cambridge University Press for comparison. One thing that did trouble me was the list of titles in your article. That could give someone the impression of a sales brochure, while I understand that at the same time it does convey a sense of what the subject press is about. I notice that the CUP article does not do this and instead simply provides a link to the official website, where someone who wants to see the titles can find them. I think you should consider this. If you decide to leave some or all of the titles in the article, I suggest you put them in list format (by prepending a '*' to each item). Tkotc (talk) 19:39, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I would like to post the article I just wrote. A BIOGRAPHY on a famous soccer player, Jose Miguel Noguera. This is my first article so I'm pretty new to all of this. Thank you Vso737 (talk) 04:48, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Vso737 (talk) 04:48, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wow! Nice article. But it does need some minor repairs. Look at the very beginning of your article where it still says "new article content". You need to follow that with his dates in parentheses (1913-1954) and then a short paragraph summarizing why your subject was famous. E.g. "John Jones (1900-1911) was a Canadian boxer who became the heavyweight champion of the world in 1911 after defeating Deadeye Dick in a 1910 match in Tristan da Cunha."
Second, you structured your article by using a plain line of capital letters, e.g. "USA". I suggest the use of section headings. See, Wikipedia:Manual of Style.
Third, your references need to be done differently. For overall guidance, see Wikipedia:Citing sources. I think what you are trying to do is use "List defined references". Look for the section of Citing sources that describes how to do that. Also, I think you are going to need slightly more information for each reference. I suggest using the templates at Wikipedia:Citation templates. If you use those templates, all the "{{Cite web ...}}" stuff goes between the <ref></ref> tags. Please note that all your references should be under a ==References== subheading. Unfortunately, this will require a certain amount of busy work, but your article is good and deserves to be fixed up right.
Fourth. You have a lot of photographs under "Notes" and I am not sure that this is the right place to put them. I suggest you look at Wikipedia:Manual of Style (layout). It talks there about using a gallery, which might be the better way to do it. See also, Wikipedia:Manual of Style#Images.
You might want to look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Football.

Hi, Thank you for the feedback............it sounds pretty challenging, I will get to it right away. This is quite a learning experience. Vso737 (talk) 02:35, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please tell me what more of contents should I write?

Ardahal.nitw (talk) 07:38, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In any article, the contents you write should show that the subject passes the notability test. Since your article is about a book, you should take a look at Wikipedia:Notability (books), see what factors result in a book being considered "notable", and show in your article which of those factors apply to the book you are writing the article about. Tkotc (talk) 19:50, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am requesting feedback on my first Wikipedia article. It is about a person whom I believe is notable and who has done many notable and unique things, for which there are numerous reliable and verifiable sources. There is no doubt in my mind that this person deserves a Wikipedia entry. As to issues of neutrality: I am well acquainted with this person because of attending some of his workshops over the last 4 years or so (he calls them 'learningshops'). However there are things he says and does which I do not necessarily agree with. This does not mean I cannot report objectively and neutrally on his achievements and philosophies. I have informed the person in question that I am creating this page about him, and on my request he has provided me with some of the materials and references I am using. ChrisStefan (talk) 07:54, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Team

I need more help in creating this article. Also, I need references and external links. But the problem is that I didn't understand how to do it in your tutorial. Maybe you could explain in simpler words.

Pingme2u (talk) 10:34, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think what you are asking is how to refer to an external website in your article as a reference to verify something you said. First, you should gather a list of the websites or online materials you want to use. Decide at what point in your article you want to use each one. At each of those points, type this pair of tags: <ref></ref>. Notice the tags are slightly different. (If you do any HTML you will see this right away.) Then the question is, how to put the information about the website between these "ref" tags. Go to Wikipedia:Citation templates and copy the template that applies. Usually this is "cite web" but it could be "cite book" or some other. Paste it between the "ref" tags where you want the reference. It will look ugly at first. Fill in as much information about the reference as you can. The Citation templates page gives good examples of what goes in each space. Then you can hit DELETE or BACKSPACE at the end of each line of the template as necessary to make the template all flow as a line.Tkotc (talk) 20:06, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please review this page

I think PLCBUS is a candidate of becoming mainstream in the next few years. It has many advantages above the popular X10 protocol but is less popular because - as I see it - the lack of centralized information. I gathered the information mostly from internet forums and press releases of ATS.

This is my first wiki article so please be gentle ;-)

What are your thoughts on the wiki page I made on Stage and Screen actor Theo Cowan? Any help would be appreciated as this is my first creation on wiki!

Fibble981 (talk) 14:21, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

First go to Wikipedia:Notability (people) and review. Pay particular attention to WP:ENT. This is because the first priority of your article is to establish that the subject is "notable" in the Wikipedia sense. Gather the facts that establish this in your subject's case and make sure they are express in the article.
References should be inserted in the article between a pair of <ref></ref> tags. Embed the reference info in a template from Wikipedia:Citation templates. Insert that filled-in template between the "ref" tags. Sounds like a busy process but it gets easy after a few shots at it. And the results are what you need.
You created the article directly in Wikipedia. That's not wrong, but it means that if your article is not acceptable as it stands, it could be deleted. I suggest that in the future you use the Wikipedia:Article wizard and create a draft of your article in your user space. Tkotc (talk) 20:19, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The previous comments stated that the entry read too much like an advertisement. I have tried to maintain the NPOV in my revisions and have added third party references (including to other wikipedia entries, where available) for any statements or claims.

I am looking for feedback on this page before I publish it live. Thanks!

Janneyw (talk) 14:42, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

See, Wikipedia:Notability (books). I wasn't sure how the subject book satisfied the notability criteria. You need to make this pretty obvious. You mention the book has been "profiled" in numerous publications. Perhaps with the right references, the book would meet criterion 1. Since you have listed the author's other books, I wonder whether you would be better off writing about the author. (In which case the list of works should be under its own subhead, in list form.) Tkotc (talk) 20:30, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
But as your author already has an article, the list of publications belongs there. It's too incidental in an article about a particular book, I think. Tkotc (talk) 20:36, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is my first article, and I am looking for any feedback about content/formatting/quality of references.

Thank you in advance for the assistance.

I think the references need some work and really I don't think the article is notable enough. Sorry. With these kinds of articles it's easy to make it sound just like a promotion or advertisement for the school. Chevymontecarlo 11:53, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is my first article just wanted to make sure it was up to Wiki standards. It is a general overview of my stations holiday concert.

Endsider (talk) 22:20, 14 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Endsider,
Your article needs some references from reliable, secondary sources, such as newspapers and magazines, to meet wikipedia's notability guidelines. I also removed a link to the website from the article text - links to external websites are meant to stay in their own section at the bottom.--Physics is all gnomes (talk) 12:58, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
