Wikipedia:Requests for feedback/2011 September 27

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

More references are needed on Lipkin's impact. Maybe more can be found about his ideas on the ethics of computers?

Is he important enough to Community Member to have his own page?

Hullo there, I would like some feedback on this article with regards to neutrality tone and copyright. Are more references needed? (I suspect yes, but would you be able to give me a clue as to where?) And how exactly do I get rid of my username from the URL? I'd be grateful for any comments or advice you can give me. Really appreciate your time, thank you!

I've just finished this article on the BBC TV series Screen One and I now don't know what to do or how to get it published into wikipedia. I did only join today so I think that's maybe why it hasn't been 'moved'. Anyway, any help to get this article into the Encyclopedia would be great. Many thanks.

Firstly, a nice job and gives a good first impression. Few comments:
  • I've done a bit of copy-editing, mainly manual of style, a few typos, and tweaks here and there.
  • Would suggest adding a few level 2 sub-headers, just to break up the article, from being one long body of text to maybe 2 or 3 sections, which will auto-generate a contents box, also.
  • Citing appears to be thorough, though with regards the "Pierre Daura Biography" full details of the title, authors, location, publisher, year, etc would be helpful to let readers know what you used clearer. I found ISBN 978-8489681361 on Amazon, which also would help. {{cite book}} would be the best template to use and you'd only need to detail it once in the references section, not every citation.
  • Would advise, on completion, that you see WikiProject Arts and get it rated, and in their scope to aid development - if you want to get it promoted to Wiki's high standards, that is.
Good article, nice read, thanks.

Hello to all! I'm new here, and I want to see if I could create my first page! Thank you to everybody that helps me!

I'm unsure if forum posts are deemed credible enough to be used as references. I'm thinking that for this particular subject they are fine but would like to have it verified before publishing.

Can someone clean up the picture code on this so it just shows the small pic, I can't seem to figure it out.

And review the article, please, thanks. Done with consent of the subject.

Worthy Editors, obliged if you could make corrections / cleanup on my article. Thanks indeed.

I just finished this article a few days ago. I'm pretty sure he's notable enough since he's received some big awards and made a lot of high profile media appearances. I guess my only possible concern is citing. I had to cite his own cite, which included embedded video from CBS News that I could no longer find on their normal site (it's archived). Does that carry more weight than citing his own site normally would? There are other independent cites as well.

I think that I am ready to go live with the page that my friends and I have been working on, but I request feedback first for two reasons. First, those of us writing the page are not 100% distant from the topic. The page is for an on-line literary magazine/blog and all of us have at one time or another posted there. However, we are only a few out of a great many and many of the others are much more famous than us. Second. Many of our references don't fit the letter of the guidelines for notability. However, I do think that our references solidly vouch for the notability of Numero Cinq - thus we meet the spirit if not the letter.

Thank you very much for your time in checking this out for me. Also, if you agree that it is time to go live, I would be immensely grateful for tips on how to do that. Thanks!!! LynneQuarmby (talk) 21:31, 27 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I know my citations need some work so I am also asking anyone for help with that. I just not understanding the way wiki wants web pages to be done. Ray Blanco to me is a very interesting person to me and I am trying to start this article off correctly. It is not completely finished just trying to see if I am on the right track
