Pneumatic line thrower

Deleted by prod on grounds it is unsourced. I see no reason that this should not have an article. It is a common piece of maritime hardware. After a quick check for sources, I don't think that I would be able to source all of this article, or even most of it, from free online sources, but there is enough out there to show at least that it is notable. -SpinningSpark 19:59, 23 July 2013 (UTC)

reasoning -JoeOfTheWiki (talk) 23:44, 24 July 2013 (UTC)

When any programmer decides he wants to add a custom parser and lexer to an application implemented in Haskell, Alex & Happy used together will often be his first considered option. The following pages refer to it: Haskell Platform, Comparison of parser generators, Happy (software) and I was about to add it to Lexical analysis when I decided to request undeletion.

Not doneThis is the subject of a merger proposal; since the proposal is still under discussion, it was inappropriate to start the article as if the discussion was over. --Orange Mike | Talk 21:23, 26 July 2013 (UTC)
I was the one that did the merger proposal. I created the page to be able to put the merger discussion into the talk section of that page. Thus the deletion deleted the merger discussion. I luckily created a backup and moved the discussion to my sandbox, but I cannot imagine that is how it is supposed to work. What went wrong in the process? I tried to follow the merger guideline from which I understood the best place is to add the discussion on the proposed target page. I raised this in my protest against deletion on the same talk page that was deleted. LazyStarryNights (talk) 22:31, 26 July 2013 (UTC)
The procedure is predicated on the assumption that you are proposing merger into an article that already exists, not into a brand new article. --Orange Mike | Talk 01:03, 27 July 2013 (UTC)
OK. Thanks for clarifying. So is there a different procedure described which should be used instead or do you think the existing procedure should be refined? I still do not have a clue on how to do this properly. LazyStarryNights (talk) 06:41, 27 July 2013 (UTC)
I copied the merger proposal talk to one of the source pages (Canarie (dance)) as per Wikipedia talk:Merging#Proposing a merger of multiple articles into a new article. Equivalents of Duke in other European languages

The page was deleted because it was a list page, and should be merged into the "Duke". However, it was deleted without this being done -Huyderman (talk) 23:24, 26 July 2013 (UTC)

Wait, what? Who said anything about merging anything? It's a list of translations of duke into other languages. There's nothing encyclopedic here to merge. You can find the same translations by going to Duke and looking at "Languages" in the toolbar to the left. Wilhelm Meis (☎ Diskuss | ✍ Beiträge) 21:39, 27 July 2013 (UTC)
The deletion proposal said "A list of translations of a word is outside the scope of Wikipedia (see WP:NOT#DICDEF). The proper place for this content would be in the "duke" article at Wiktionary ([2]). Additionally, verifiability and notability have not been established." Note: this refers explicitly to the duke article at Wiktionary, not the duke article on Wikipedia. Also, it appears the objection was not raised until 26 July (18 days after the article was deleted), by an editor who never had any involvement with the article (nor made ANY edits other than this objection since 2009). I don't see any appearance that the objection raised is founded in policy or deletion procedure. Please delete again per the original PROD rationale. Wilhelm Meis (☎ Diskuss | ✍ Beiträge) 23:30, 27 July 2013 (UTC)
We only delete once under the prod. Once challenged it is not to be used again. But you are correct in that what is there does not make an article. I am expecting that the requestor will make use of the content for improving Wiktionary. If attribution is not needed then a G6 delete can be used to give this the chop. Mazor Robotics

on July 19th Mazor_robotics was deleted by user:INeverCry, who is no longer an administrator, clamming that it is promotional material.

I respectfully disagree with the deletion and would like to know what would be the proper way to appeal. Mazor robotics is a publicly traded company that developed a unique medical device, that has value and interest to Wikipedia readers.

When writing the article, i have used other Wikipedia articles as references such like MAKO_Surgical_Corp., Intuitive Surgical, Medtronic and more. there was no intention to publish any promotional material, and it was intend to meet the Wikipedia standards.

if I failed to meet or break any guideline, I would assume that the proper way to deal with the article should be to edit the wrong phrases. the way it was done - a brutal deletion seems to be too aggressive.

please kindly advise how should I proceed.

finally, unfortunately, I do not have a copy of the original article and can't even start to edit it.

Not done Well, the deletion was logged as a G11 (perhaps he was in a hurry), but was indeed meant as a G5, as the main content of the article was witten by confirmed sockpuppets. So you will have to go via deletion review here, as an undeletion via this board would not be uncontroversial. Also, allow me to be a bit wary as you, being a "new" user, managed to find this page straight off. Lectonar (talk) 14:31, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
ap2297 I feel trapped in a situation taken from Kafka, where one problem leads to another, with no way out. it all starts from a pure mistake, of inconstantly violating the rule of sockpuppets, then my user name was blocked, then the article was deleted. in order to appeal, I have not other choice but to open a new user (ap2297) and now I can't even defend the article because i am a suspected "new user".
I admit that I made a mistake by offering other people who works under the same LAN to edit the article I wrote. it is a mistake, I admit, but I never personally used multiple accounts, and had no intention of do it. I regret that other people working under the same LAN edited the same article. I was unaware to the rule, and promise not to do it again.
  • then the article in discussion Mazor Robotics was deleted due to the same reason and since my user name was blocked, I have no way to defend my case and argue that the article should be published.
  • more over, I don't have a copy of my work, and I have no idea how to find it in the Wikipedia recycle bin and try to re submit it under a new user name (if that's the right procedure.
so please, can someone help an innocent man who got into trouble with the Wikimedia police to be bailout and be accepted back to society?
thank you for listening.

Request for undeletion of article Minetest

The page was deleted without warning. The reason given, "R2: Cross-namespace redirect from mainspace" for deletion was ludicrous because en:Minetest was a real page and was never a redirection. The article was about one of the longest running popular forum games qpawn, which has been going since 1998. the article was not finished. and importantly the article does not aim to just promote the game it is merely for people interested in the history of such forum games. And for people interested in such games the history of this game is very important because it started this particular genre of games. And currently on wiki there is no current background on the history of these games.

Why would you delete a article on a Youtube certain channel, but not delete other youtube channel articles? I created the page quickly, and planned on doing a lot of improving, for I work 2 jobs, and do not have alot of time on my hands. If you would have just given me more time to work, I would have stated the "importance" of this article. Please undelete this page, for I was still working on it.

  •  Not done Oddly enough, you appear to have already known that it should not be in "live" articlespace, as you took a draft and moved it. Drafts exist for things that are not even close to be ready for the actual encyclopedia because of things like notability. EVERY article must meet notability BEFORE it goes into articlespace. Please also review this concept when it comes to deletion discussions - every article must stand on its own, and cannot be compared to other articles/topics (✉→BWilkins←✎) 16:39, 31 July 2013 (UTC)

reasoning -90.204.190.106 (talk) 20:32, 31 July 2013 (UTC) I would be grateful if you could reinstate the above mentioned page. The individual in question has recently been appointed as Head of Football Development and Recruitment at Wolverhampton Wanderers FC. On this basis he becomes one of the few "Directors of Football" currently employed within English Football, a position of huge interest in the modern game and to the public in general. Page to be updated to reflect tis in due course. As such I believe that this warrants the restoration of the page.

Not done - this article has not been restored because it does not appear to meet our guidelines for inclusion of articles about companies. In general, Wikipedia considers a topic to be notable if there exist multiple reliable sources of information on the topic, external to the subject itself. Articles concerning companies will be deleted on sight if they are considered to be unambiguous advertising or promotion, or if they do not contain a credible assertion of the significance of the subject. ~Amatulić (talk) 17:46, 1 August 2013 (UTC)

You have chosen not to go that route, and merely want a copy of the contents. Still no Declined. The deleted article was not deleted because it was promotional, it was deleted because the organization lacks notability.
There was almost no information about this academy; the bulk of the article consisted of a general description of karate (for which we already have an article) as well as WP:HOWTO advice, which isn't allowed. Also, the English was nearly incomprehensible and would have required a major re-write to correct.
Finally, the article included zero sources as required by WP:CORP, and it contained zero assertion of significance or notability. The article was therefore correctly deleted per WP:CSD#A7.
If Sidisfamous wants to build this article, he can do so in his own sandbox, not in main article space. There wasn't enough valid content beyond the short lead paragraph to make it worth restoring or even userfying. ~Amatulić (talk) 22:44, 2 August 2013 (UTC)

It is the reason I don't understant what this article was deleted and I request for undeletion, thank you,

Do want this to go to WP:Articles for creation? It looks like the original attempt was to put it there, but it just went to mainspace instead. The deletion nomination was for no claim of importance, but I disagree with that. It is written in a slightly promotional way, but this could probably be corrected at AFC or in a sandbox. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 06:21, 4 August 2013 (UTC)

Done - I have "userfied" the article for you to User:Lolagars/Guillermo Cervera (photographer) where you can work on it. There is a "submit" button at the top which will send it to WP:Articles for creation for review. I suggest that you add those references so that they can be accessed from the article - see WP:CITE for advice - and any others that show independent sources discussing his work; also, try to make it more neutral in tone, avoiding "peacock" words like "unparalleled". Done - as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored upon request. I will notify user WLU (talk), who proposed it, and who may choose to nominate it at WP:Articles for deletion, which would start a debate lasting seven days, to which you would be welcome to contribute. As you can see, there is very little there: in particular, there are no references to WP:Verify what the article says, so I have added a "BLP-prod" template which you may remove when you have added at least one reliable source, failing which it will be deleted again in ten days.
