Melville Library at Stony Brook University invites everyone to join the Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon taking place Tuesday, March 31, 2020, 1:00 - 3:00 pm at Melville Library in Stony Brook, New York. Art+Feminism Edit-a-thons aim to improve the gender balance on Wikipedia, where most editors are men. Since 2014, participants in these edit-a-thons have created or improved over 58,000 pages! At this event, editors will be encouraged to create and improve articles related to gender, feminism, and the arts.

Please bring a laptop with you!
- Bring your laptop, power cord and ideas for entries that need updating or creation. We'll also have a few laptops on hand for participants to use during the live event.
We'll have a selection of print materials and sources on hand at the event.
- We're going to get copies of some printed reference materials to have on hand at the event for participants to use.
Getting started[edit]
- If you do not have one already, create a Wikipedia account
- While logged into your Wikipedia account, please register as a participant in this event
- If you like, do online training, but try to use the event to make an edit to Wikipedia
- Identify a reliable source which is interesting
- Add information from that source to a Wikipedia article and cite your source
