Wikipedia:WikiProject Antarctica/Assessment/Importance

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This page is being created to allow the various members of the project to help determine what level of importance to assign the various articles within the scope of the project. I think probably the best way to go would be to establish general guidelines based on type of article for the Low and Mid importance groups, and then have specific discussions on the importance of individual articles for their potential inclusion in the High and Top importance groups. Having said that, let's start.

General guidelines[edit]

I would imagine that all the subpages of the main Antarctica article should each have Top importance. Other articles included in this category may include hopefully no more than one or two articles regarding specific subjects within each of the main subcategories of Category:Antarctica. Except when specifically indicated otherwise. I do think that each of the major Antarctic territorial claims should also qualify as at least High, as well as the most notable of the various landmarks.

Specific requests for High or Top importance grade[edit]

Please list below any articles which you believe deserve Top or High importance. We will then have the various members of the project discuss the subject and attempt to reach concensus on them. I personally think, for utilitarian purposes, the number of articles in the Top class should not exceed 100, and maybe no more than 200 for High class.
