Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Draft decline or reject help

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Please read this page very carefully, as it contains advice crucial to your page making it through the Articles for Creation process. That said, feel free to skip section headings that do not pertain to you.

If your article has been declined[edit]

I know. It's disappointing. Believe it or not, many reviewers have been where you are right now.

Before resubmitting it, please take the time to address all concerns left in the decline reason and reviewer comments. In these, you may see hyperlinked pages with scary looking abbreviations such as "Fails WP:N, WP:GNG, and WP:NPOV". These linked pages are policies and guidelines, and although they seem long, it's worth reading through them as it's the only way that you'll get your draft or any future drafts published. Ignoring these is a fairly good way to get your draft declined again or rejected.

If you're still confused as to why your draft was declined, you can ask for help through our Wikipedia:Help desk. Please make sure to fill out all fields properly -- failure to do so will delay help, and blank requests for help will be ignored.

If your article has been rejected[edit]

Your draft is not suitable for inclusion into the encyclopedia.

We know it's disheartening. The red notice seems scary. Please don't be mistaken -- we do want you as a contributor. Take the time to review the reason for rejection and/or any previous decline rationales. Read the relevant policies and guidelines. The best way to prepare an article for inclusion in Wikipedia is to make sure it meets all of our standards.

Pick another topic or start from scratch in another draft page. Make sure your page is compliant with policy, and give it another go. Rejection is not the end of your Wikipedia career.

If you're still confused as to why your draft was rejected, you can ask for help through our Wikipedia:Help desk. Please make sure to fill out all fields properly -- failure to do so will delay help, and blank requests for help will be ignored.
