Name

[edit]

Babism is the name used for the religion in almost all English-language sources from the end of the 19th century up to today. This is the name the religion is most commonly known by, together with the variant Babi religion or Babi faith. After the Baháʼí–Azali split, the religion is known as Azali Bábism and Bahá'í Faith (Azalism, Bahaism) respectively.

Bayani faith, Bayani religion or Bayanism are English renderings of the native name of the religion. Its adherents are called people of the Bayan by the Báb, Bahá'u'lláh and Subh-i-Azal.
