#530[edit]

I nominate JTtheOG (talk · contribs · count · logs) to be Editor of the Week for their ability to crush backlogs. Last year JTtheOG reviewed over 10,000 articles as part of new page patrolling, making this the fifth time they've done so in a single year. This also marks the (at least) seventh consecutive year that they've reviewed at least 5,000 articles. Due to this impressive and continued effort, they currently rank second all-time in article reviews. In addition to this, they recently won the 2024 January NPP backlog drive and the WP:FEB24 unreferenced backlog drive. I think it's time we give them some recognition for the truly amazing amount of work they do. Hey man im josh (talk) 18:34, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Support. Very impressive work at NPP. If we could make 2 or 3 clones of this editor, the NPP backlog would go to zero :) –Novem Linguae (talk) 19:09, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
They wouldn't be the OG then, now, would they? Queen of Hearts talk

#531[edit]

I nominate Voorts (talk · contribs · count · logs) to be Editor of the Week for their content work. Since October of '23, they have worked to promote Running Out of Time (song), October 1 (film), Shostakovich v. Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corp., as well as a number of other articles to good article status. This is no small feat for someone who has been editing for less than a year, but Voorts dove in and has done exceptionally well in a short time. I believe their quality contributions deserve recognition. Hey man im josh (talk) 18:47, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

+1, it was a pleasure to review Shostakovich when it came to FAC, and the work Voorts does is exemplary. Eddie891 Talk Work 19:12, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Support! In addition to his excellent content work, he has also been quickly taking to internal processes like new page patrol. I have a feeling this is only the beginning of a long and barnstar-studded on-wiki career for voorts. TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 22:33, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

#532[edit]

I nominate Thebiguglyalien (talk · contribs · count · logs) to be Editor of the Week for their exceptional content work. I'm particularly impressed with their work on the first ladies of the United States, where they've worked to promote 24 articles to GA, 3 of which, Barbara Bush, Frances Cleveland, and Lou Henry Hoover, they later got promoted to featured articles. In addition to this, they've also worked to promote another 30+ articles to good article status, such as Dictatorship, Centre-left politics, and Iron Man, for which they received a Million Award. I believe we should recognize their significant contributions and efforts to improve Wikipedia. Hey man im josh (talk) 19:39, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

+1 Wonderful writer, whether that is on the aformentioned content, in back-page discussions, or in satire. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 20:18, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

#533[edit]

I nominate KylieTastic (talk · contribs · count · logs) to be Editor of the Week for their work at WikiProject Articles for creation. With almost 12,000 edits to their AfC log page, including processing over 1,000 drafts so far this year, it's easy to understand just how much they do which. One of our most consistent and best AfC reviewers, they're not just taking the easy accepts and declines, no, they're often working from the back of the queue and dealing with the more difficult drafts that others have passed over. They routinely show patience, understanding, and a willingness to help coach newer editors that are trying to get into editing, and for that, I think they should be recognized. Hey man im josh (talk) 20:10, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Support. One of the AFC "expert back of queue reviewers" that handle all the hard AFC drafts. Without editors like this, AFC would grind to a halt. –Novem Linguae (talk) 21:16, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

#534[edit]

I would like to nominate MPGuy2824 (talk · contribs · count · logs) for Editor of the Week. MPGuy is a multitalented editor working in several areas including New Pages Patrol, content work and script development. His MoveToDraft script has helped me many times during NPP myself - it made the repetitive process of draftifying, tagging the redirect to the draft for R2 CSD and notifying the user whose page was draftified much simpler for me. He also does some helpful wikignoming here and there on articles about Indian constituencies and has 1 GA, 1 DYK and 1 FL credit with another FLC he is working on. Prodraxis (talk) 16:50, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Support. They were actually on my list of people to nominate when I did a large batch of nominations recently, but I held off to give others a chance to make their own nominations. Hey man im josh (talk) 16:54, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Support. Absolutely. A very talented technical editor, an WP:NPP coordinator, and an outstanding Wikipedian. –Novem Linguae (talk) 16:55, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Support You know, you are a fantastic editor and a wonderful friend, always there to lend a hand and treat everyone with kindness and respect. You truly deserve it, mate. – DreamRimmer (talk) 16:59, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

#535[edit]

Gvssy (talk · contribs · count · logs) has done a lot of good work in a very short time. Approaching 1000 edits with 60% in mainspace. A member of WP:Military History they have created over 20 high quality articles regarding Sweden and other Scandinavian counties. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dencoolast33 (talkcontribs) 14:16, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

#536[edit]

It has been a while since I have nominated anyone here, but I feel I have to break my silence for Grungaloo (talk · contribs · count · logs). They have only been active for six months, but have already produced some very polished articles on birds - including tufted jay, currently at FAC. Not to mention their contributions to the community by copy editing at the hard-pressed GoCE. Gog the Mild (talk) 19:29, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

#537[edit]

I nominate theleekycauldron (talk · contribs · count · logs) to be Editor of the Week for her continued work at DYK, excellent article work, friendliness towards newbies and veterans alike, and especially their spearheading of WP:RFA2024. I know they have received it before but I think it has been over 12 months and honestly think her achievements in the meanwhile really do merit recognition on their own. ♠Ixtal ( T / C ) Non nobis solum. ♠ 20:14, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Seconded. Three FAs which are all both entertaining and amusing. A font of good advice. Gog the Mild (talk) 23:20, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

#538[edit]

I nominate Doremo (talk · contribs · count · logs) for the Editor of the Week award. Has been active since 2009, with over 120,000 edits and over 2,000 new pages created. Contributes to WikiProject Slovenia, and has created and improved lots of Slovenia-related articles (for example, they created almost all articles in Category:Former settlements in Slovenia). Doremo has also translated lots of articles from the Norwegian and Estonian Wikipedia in the spirit of WikiProject Intertranswiki. --CaptainOlimar42 (talk) 19:26, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Support I've actually been thinking of nominating Doremo myself for their helpful gnome work and translations on articles about Europe and came to this page. Prodraxis (talk) 13:04, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

#539[edit]

I would like to nominate Krisgabwoosh (talk · contribs · count · logs) for Editor of the Week. A prolific content creator with 58 GAs and counting, they work on articles related to Bolivian politics and politicians. Latin America in general is an area that is undercovered due to Wikipedia's systemic bias, and I appreciate Krisgabwoosh's help to help fight that bias. Their philosophy that "there's no reason to create an article that isn't a good article" show that they are committed to quality over quantity and truly want to improve the encyclopedia. Prodraxis (talk) 13:12, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

#540[edit]

I would like to nominate Red Director (talk · contribs · count · logs) to be Editor of the Week. Red Director has been editing since 2006 and is one of the most prolific Wikipedians of all time. He has ammassed nearly 1 million edits (#16 all time) in the nearly two decades since he registered his account, adding an untold number of references and making pages conform to style guidelines. I suspect you could go to any modern American football biography and you would be able to find Red Director somewhere in the edit history. Good luck trying to find a bare url on an NFL article. With Red Director around, they are as rare as gold. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 19:18, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

#541[edit]

I nominate Qwerfjkl (talk · contribs · count · logs) to be Editor of the Week for his tireless work in behind-the-scenes work, particularly at WP:CFD. In addition to closing discussions, he is the developer of User:Qwerfjkl/scripts/CFDlister—the script which makes NACs (upon which CfD relies heavily) not a massive pain in the rear. He also created User:Qwerfjkl/scripts/massCFD, which handles multi-nomination CfDs (unlike most discussion venues multi-nominations at CfD are usually productive!). He also is the operator of User:Qwerfjkl (bot), which performs functions such as notifying contributors of CS1 errors and implementing PIQA (WP:PIQA). Finally, he is a mentor through the Growth Team, where he frequently assists new users in learning the ropes. (This is my first nomination; please let me know if/how I messed this up!) #542[edit]

I nominate Queen of Hearts (talk · contribs · count · logs) to be Editor of the Week for their endless wikignoming and collaborative nature. We need more editors like her. She is also the author of one GA, three DYKs, and one ITN page. She has thousands upon thousands of edits moving pages and adding categories that while not visible make it infinitely better for editors to maintain the wiki. She's also a very active mentor. — ♠Ixtal ( T / C ) Non nobis solum. ♠ 22:58, 1 April 2024 (UTC) expanded 11:01, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

former #528[edit]

In early February TechnoSquirrel69 (talk · contribs · count · logs) made a small repair to this very nomination page. Curious, I chased it down and discovered an editor that is a prime example of doing what it takes to retain new editors. His outgoing nature and willingness to take the time to show the new editor "the road less travelled", through his kindness and communication, deserve attention and recognition. His talk page contains interactions with new editors that are examples we can all learn from. Buster Seven Talk (UTC) 21:16, 11 February 2024
