All articles that fall within the scope of the Greater Manchester WikiProject should have the above template placed on their talk page. Sometimes, you will see a UK geography WikiProject template already there. In these cases, you should also add our template. As a project we aim to have all our articles comply with the various editing policies and guidelines. If you are contributing to an article, it is good practice to ensure that it's properly referenced with reliable sources, otherwise any contentious content may be removed by another editor. The above template is currently added to the end of each entry of a Greater Manchester borough or any of the towns mentioned within the template. It is added by editing in {{Greater Manchester}} at the end of the entry's page.
The above template is designed for adding to articles about districts within the metropolitan borough boundaries of the City of Manchester. You add it by editing in {{Manchester}} at the end of a relevant entry's page.
Used on articles which are part of the project and require cleanup by adding {{Cleanup-GM}} to the top of the article. A list of pages currently using this tag can be found here.
Geo-tagged articles contain the location of the subject of the article. As well as carrying a link to things such as map information, a number of geotags are also picked up by software such as Google Earth meaning that a link to the article is displayed at the correct place on maps. There are a series of templates for adding the location to an article. More details on the use of these can be found at Template:coord.
There are a number of images also on Wikimedia Commons in the Greater Manchester category. The template to the right can be added to link through to this category using {{commonscat|Greater Manchester}} within an article.
