Articles for Notability Review (ANR) is where Wikipedians discuss whether a controversial article should be judged as notable or non-notable. This Articles listed here are debated for as long as it takes to get consensus. The article is then moved out of the Category:Articles with topics of unclear notability by either replacing the {{Notability}}tag with a more appropriate tag (such as {{expand}}), or by sending the article to the Articles for Deletion debates. Please note: this is NOT an AfD discussion; this is to see if the article is notable or non-notable.

Please feel free to nominate any article with no opinion on the nomination. The Wikipedians will discuss and eventually form a consensus.

We must also ask that no administrator intervention take place here. Remember: this is not an AfD debate.

Before nominating for an ANR[edit]

  • Please be familiar with all the guidelines that establish what makes an article notable. Examples of this are WP:BIO, WP:BAND, WP:CORP, and WP:LOCAL.
  • If it is obvious that an article is notable or non-notable be bold and take appropriate action on the article.

Sharron Storer[edit]

This article is semi-notable, the event was widely televised, but that is all that would make Storer notable. Diez2 16:16, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Non-notable. The article should be about the incident itself, if one is needed at all. I think there are also privacy issues; if I say something critical to President Bush will a WP article be written about me and my family? I don't think that is what WP should be about. I'm not saying she is notable, but the notability she has isn't that she said something critical about about Blair, it's that she said something critical about Blair which was "widely-televised".--Nonpareility 20:06, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How to file an ANR[edit]

  1. Add {{subst:anr1}} to the top of the main article.
  2. Copy the {{subst:arn2}} template (located on the bottom of the anr1 template) to the Preloaded Debate Page.
  3. On the Debate page, either write an opinion why you think this article is notable or non-notable, or say no opinion. Please feel free to say no opinion when you don't know where an article belongs.
  4. Finally, copy {{subst:anr3|pg=PAGENAME}} (also located on the bottom of the anr1 template), replacing PAGENAME with the article's name, to the Current Nominations section of this page.
