Open tasks[edit]

Please feel free to add any tourism-related articles to this list, that need to be addressed or improved, in addition to general tasks.

  • Create new Round-trip ticket Round-trip travel, see: Onward ticket Point-to-point transit Open-jaw ticket Airline booking ploys Round-the-world ticket
  • Get a peer review for space tourism, and see what we can do to get it to GA.
  • Cleanup volunteer travel. The article sounds more like a dedicated volunteer vacation site, than an encyclopedia.
  • Create new Tourism in ____ articles with the countries in Africa. Per this: Africa in topic|Tourism in We don't have very many tourism-related Africa articles. Also, be sure to check the templates for other continents, too.
  • Assess as many articles as we can. We're just starting off, and we need as much help as we can get.
  • Nautical tourism, created Feb 2007, has been an orphan and that entire time and tagged for cleanup. Desperately needs attention, or simply deletion. --Lendorien (talk) 15:33, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Travel agency - Needs to be updated with more current information, some of the references are over 7 years old and are dated. Will work on getting newer references, any help is appreciated! --Funandtrvl (talk) 15:27, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Business travel is in desperate need of help. About half the article was copied from a commercial web site, and I removed that part. The rest is completely unsourced and reads like some travel agent's brochure. Rees11 (talk) 14:02, 22 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
  • Would appreciate help with assessment and/or improvement of Tourism in Denmark and Tourism in Luxembourg. Feel free to leave suggestions on the talk pages. - Ipigott (talk) 12:11, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hotel, motel and resort are all start-class with motel in particular having been turned into a mess of US-specific trivia. These are core topics and therefore do need to be cleaned up to a usable level. K7L (talk) 15:21, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'd be grateful if someone from your project could re-assess the article Palace on Wheels. I have just re-assessed it for the Trains Wikiproject, as it had been outrageously over-rated (on both quality and importance scales), possibly by someone with a WP:COI promoting the topic. I suspect it is also over-assessed for your project, but I am not a member of Travel & Tourism. Thank you. Chris Golds (talk) 10:41, 9 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm hoping someone would be able to review the article on Association_of_Independent_Tour_Operators. The organisation themselves submitted suggested content to the Talk:Association_of_Independent_Tour_Operators page to avoid editing the page themselves. I believe it's gone unnoticed there. The live article is poor, doesn't include sources and includes a link to an unrelated travel company. They have a made a significant effort to provide the start of a well-sourced alternative. Thanks for any help! AutomaticAndy (talk) 18:18, 13 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • U.S. Travel Association [1] is what I call the mother ship of all tourism and travel organizations, included but not limited to: amphibious tourist busses (ducks), airlines, restaurants, hotels, attractions, meeting/planning professionals, train, state tourism assn., cvb's (convention and visitor bureaus), committees in countries to attract foreign tourists to USA, publications useful in the industries, and many other related undertakings. I worked there as a temp. 1995-1996. At that time it was called TIA [2] or Travel Industry Association. The Dept of Interior used to be tasked with many of the responsibilities now embraced by this organization. The Secretary of Interior sat (ex officio) on the board of directors when I worked there. - Jayxmn (talk) 19:55, 5 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
