Dancing Stage MegaMiX[edit]

This is the first full sized Dance Dance Revolution article I've written in response to the fact that they're all in very bad shape. I plan on continuing until all the DDR related articles are in tip top shape. Please give me any advice you can as I'm still learning Wiki code and style. --AeronPrometheus (talk) 16:02, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

i found that the article was very informational but i think that a complete list of tracks would be helpful.Historybuffc13 (talk) 02:31, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It does, the hidden list in the Songs section is every song featured in that particular version of Dancing Stage. Do you have any suggestions or corrections that can be made to the article? --AeronPrometheus (talk) 04:29, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Una Laguna[edit]

Overall this article has definitely had a good start and is within the scope of GA: good chunks of the key information are there and sourcing is currently B-standard. Here's a list of things to do which covers the main points:

  • Gameplay section needs to be tidied up:
  • There's no need for all the subsections: you can just delete the headings and it'll be fine.
  • Unlockable Content and Memory Card sections should be merged into the main Gameplay section.
  • The Modes section of one example of a rather game guide-esque section. Remember, the article should only have information which non-players will find useful. There's no need to list all the game modes.
  • There's also no need to write all the game modes in bold block capitals each time they turn up.
  • This article is missing a Development section, describing the game's development, any delays, previews at any big shows (such as E3), marketing, types of releases, and such. Game Bundle, Other Versions and the first paragraph of the Reception section belong in this section, along with additional information which isn't in the article yet. Sites such as GameSpot and IGN are great for finding sources for this section. Have a look at the articles listed at WP:VG/FA for a better idea of what to include.
  • The Reception section needs expansion: who praised the game? Why? Who gave the game negative reviews and why? Did it win any awards? Again, WP:VG/FA should give you a good idea of what to include here.
  • The article needs more citations to get to a GA level of sourcing:
  • Currently the two places where there aren't enough citations are the lead and Gameplay sections. Sourcing Reception and Development sections is relatively straightforward, but a lot of editors get lost as to where they can cite the Gameplay section. You can use reviews and previews - most of them describe the gameplay. A last resort if you're stuck is to use the game's manual, though this and similar primary sources are generally frowned upon.
  • Current citations use the relevant citation templates which is good, but you don't need the month, year and date. Use one or the other.
  • References section is usually positioned above the See Also and External Links sections but below the other the sections.
  • Images:
  • Current fair use rationales are adequate, though some people may complain that Image:Ds megamix.jpg is of too high a resolution (if you want to avoid any potential holdup here, then reupload the image with the largest dimension being 400px, so a resolution of something like 282x400).
  • The "Cover art for MegaMiX" caption in the infobox is unnecessary.
  • One of the major setbacks with this article is a lack of gameplay screenshots. I don't know how to take screenshots from a PS2 game, though there's obviously a method somewhere. Keep the number of screenshots to a minimum: there's no need to have ten screenshots if there are only two notable things screenshots can represent, for example. Fair use rationales still apply - WP:FURG.
  • Lead section needs expansion per WP:LS. This section should summarise the entire article in two or three paragraphs. I've listed this point at the end because I find it easiest to write Lead Sections when I've finished working on the article (because, hey, it's difficult to summarise something which doesn't yet exist).

Hm... I have a few things here -- you can do what you want with them.
  • Avoid the BOLD menu options -- they look sort of silly and distracted me when I was going through the article. I think that it'd work just fine if we listed them as "Challenge Mode" instead of "CHALLENGE MODE".
  • In the "Gameplay" section, the definitions for game modes are spread out through three or four sub-categories, while the one category that lists "Modes" just simply lists them. Try to make each sub-category true to what the title says the content's supposed to be.
  • "Game Bundle" and "Other Versions" should be merged together.
  • The "Memory Card" section should be merged into another section -- there's just not enough stuff there to merit its own section.
... well, that does it for me. That was just a quick glance through -- sorry I couldn't give you anymore. Take care, and good luck. --Nomader Talk 03:53, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
