This concept-driven course will take an ecological approach to the study of infectious diseases of wildlife. We will examine important themes associated with disease ecology throughout the semester. Students will develop an understanding of how pathogens spread through, persist in, and impact host populations. Case studies and student-led discussions will facilitate understanding of the applied importance of these themes. We will also discuss ecologically meaningful strategies for managing wildlife diseases. This course is designed for undergraduate and graduate students.
