Assignment - Start drafting your contribution to the Wikipedia article

Review below this week project assignment leading to the term paper

Go through your chosen article looking for any place you can provide additional information which will make the current form of the article stronger by showing your understanding of the topic.

An effective way to add great content, for instance, is to find additional sources that support the conclusions you have made yourself from the article. The more sources you have, the stronger your contribution will be. Or you can even look for statements made throughout the article where inserting an example would be appropriate to help support the statement.

Arranging all these personal and rigorous analyses about the article into a well-written 500 words paragraph in YOUR USER SANDBOX is the required task for week 7.

Reach out to your Wikipedia Expert if you have questions using the Get Help button at the top of this page. Review the Wikipedia on the course menu on Blackboard for more details on the requirements. Wikipedia Project Details

PS: Please do not forget to complete the training modules and to create a new section with the title “assignment7” where you will write your paragraph.

Review below this week project assignment leading to the term paper

Here are the steps to follow in reviewing your fellow learner’s article and to complete assignment 8.

Firstly, click on the “students” tab on your course page. You will see the list of your peers’ articles, in front of their names. Then select the article you will mostly like to review.

Secondly, when you are ready to perform the peer review, click on the “sandboxes” tab of whose article you selected. You will find the “sandboxes” right below his/her name. Then successively,

•        Go to the talk page.

•        Click "New section".

•        Add a subject, something like "Samantha's peer review".

•        Leave your notes in the space below. (in the guiding framework of assignment 8, you have a set of information that explains in detail how to effectively evaluate your peer's work)

•        Save the page by pressing on “Publish Changes”

Finally, go in your own sandbox and create a section titled: “Assignment 8 ”:  where you will leave a note something like: “Samantha peer-reviewed John’s article”. This is very important.

Assignment - Respond to your peer review

You probably have some feedback from other students and possibly other Wikipedians. Consider their suggestions, decide whether it makes your work more accurate and complete, and edit your draft to make those changes.

Review below this week project assignment leading to the term paper

Once your article is reviewed, and you made changes, that you would consider significant, go to your sandbox and create a new section, with the title “assignment 9” where you will say whether the suggestions that were made to you were helpful in regards to improve your article or not.  If you have not received any comment on your article, please keep working on editing it based on the synthesis of your own insights and clearly say this under “assignment 9” in your sandbox.

PS: If you didn’t receive any feedback from your fellow classmates, you have the option of seeking assistance from Wikipedia’s staff to eventually receive valuable points of view about your work. The feedback can serve you to gradually improve your article.
