This course introduces graduate students to a wide range of humanistic, social scientific, and critical theories used in the study of communication. In terms of the wikipedia assignment, students would be asked to improve wikipedia pages on the biographies of theorists (e.g., Mark Orbe, Judee Burgoon, Leslie Baxter, etc.), theories (e.g., Co-Cultural Theory, Relational Dialectics Theory, Expectancy Violations Theory), or key concepts researched in communication (e.g., Relational uncertainty) from a selected list.
