CHEM 300 is a third-year course on communicating chemistry that is taken by our undergraduate chemistry students. The course focusses on written communication skills, oral communication skills, scientific reasoning skills, science & the scientific literature, and professional skills. In our course, we teach students to really think about the context and audience for which they are communicating. In our Wikipedia assignment, students will take ownership of a Wikipedia article on a topic of their choosing, to augment the body of knowledge available to the public. In this way, they will work to take their disciplinary knowledge and communicate in a way that is meaningful and useful to the public.
