This is an introductory geology course where we will be exploring the fundamentals of phenomena affecting the structure and behavior of the earth. We will be looking at the development of ideas about such phenomena through a historical context to also come to a better understanding for the process of doing geology. The Wikipedia project involved in the course will be a short-term project (for all students) and long-term project (for a smaller portion of the class). It will revolve around famous women in geology; who they are and what they did. The goal is to increase the presence of women geologists on Wikipedia; to update pages or create ones. Emphasis will not only be placed on the science they did, but also the social, political, and economic factors that influenced what they did.
